Something I thought of that made me laugh.

I'm listening to Tusk rehearsals and mick starts doing a funky drum beat to over and over and it throws CM off, and she says, "Not to ****ing fancy eh"


What are your fav Christine humor moments???

One of my favourites is her comment at a rehearsal during Over and Over..."Don't get too ****ing crazy."

Some gems from the 2/23/77 rehearsal...correct me if I'm wrong with my hearing.

"We could introduce you as Buckingham, Lindsey."

Believe Me
"Patrick isn't helping matters. Every time I got an empty glass...he fills it."

"Yep...you got it!"

"There's no champagne on my piano. PaTRIIIIIIICK!"

Dreams
"I spilt a whole glass of champagne on my piano, PaTRICK."

"Have you any dreams you'd like to---you take over."

Oh Daddy #1
"Oh daddy, you know you make me--what?"

"Why is my voice so...loud? I'm not trying to be picky but..."

"Yeah, it's like I was saying, Ken."
John - "Don't get belligerent!"
"Listen, Mark..."
John - "Don't get ****ing belligerent! Would you like a kiss?"
"What do you think we are a bleedin' professional rock and roll band?"

Gold Dust Woman
Lindsey sings, "Rock on, ancient queen." She starts laughing. He starts laughing when he sings, "Rulers make bad lovers." Then they start singing together.

They stop in the middle of Sara and she says,"Sorry that was my *((ing fault!"

I cannot remember the exact quote at all. She's in mid singing of for you there'll be no more crying, but she forgets the next part.

As a demo side note, that extra line to Songbird...heartbreak.

There are so many, I hardly know where to start. She was in top form in those Tusk rehearsals. I believe she asks John Courage how many people came in & if he was charging them, then she says "well maybe we ought to pay THEM".

Those interviews on that Rumours/Japan bootleg tape are priceless. She was asked what it's like to be a sex symbol, she says "I don't know. Ask Stevie Nicks". The "peachy", "hinkum, dinkum, dorum", the whole bit. Everything that she said on those tapes is hilarious. She is very funny when she's sober. She's even funnier when she's drunk.

Also, I've always loved that PMS quote from back in the early 1970's. Somebody posted that on the Ledge a few years ago, but I don't remember the exact quote now.

leaving it off IMO was a mistakes - I always wonder what the hell makes them reach these decisions

I kind of feel Songbird is perfect the way it is...elegant in its simplicity. Too many additional lines would lessen the impact, for me.

Besides she already told him she wanted him to smile in Don't Stop. Can't be redundant.

You mean the one about making love in the back of a bus? About a year ago someone confessed on the Ledge to having made that quote up, along with another one, I believe.

Now that I think about it, I don't even think the term PMS existed back in 1973, did it??? I thought that was a more recent phrase. Back then it was just being a moody female.

Question (1973): What is the hardest thing about touring?
Christine: "Waking up to a hang-over and having the worst case of PMS in the recorded history of women's health. Or trying to make it to the bathroom to throw up after getting too drunk and tripping over your husband because he passed out on the floor and couldn't make it to the bed. Wait, I have a better one. Trying to make love to your husband in a bus that is going 95 miles an hour while your bandmates listen with their ears against the door. It is difficult being the only female in a band."

I put that version of Songbird on repeat last night. I couldn't imagine being there and watching her sing that.

You smile, and you make feel good inside...it's a feeling, and it's so hard to hide.

It's great on a demo. I can understand why it was taken out...doesn't seem to flow.
