I also remember that some of records would skip, but I could sometimes prevent that if I put a nickel on the arm of the needle....the extra weight seemed to stop some of the skipping.

The thing that drove me batty about LPs was the paranoia over wearing out the grooves and/or wearing out the diamond stylus of the tonearm cartridge. I would force myself to ration my playing of certain albums because of this. And OMG, I can't listen to some songs these days without thinking back on where I would always hear a loud pop, or where I would have to nudge the needle so that it wouldn't get hung up playing the same groove over and over. Ugh. As such, I truly do not understand this newfound (hipster) interest in collecting vinyl LPs and such. There is a reason why everything went digital!

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Yeah, it seems fairly definite that Sara, Tusk, and Think About Me will count as hits and not be in the contest.

I plan for the first poll to have Christine and Stevie's songs and the second one to have Lindsey's songs. Then the top songs from those two polls compete in the final Tusk poll.

SOTM was a single but it wasn't a hit. I heard it on the radio only once.

IMO, SOTM is a great song, but the production just took too long, for the song to get rocking(as in "radio friendly").

I bought Tusk the day it came out, on 8-track!! I couldn't wait to get home, and shove it in the player, alongside the "8-track shim"(was I the only one who had sh*tty 8-track players, that you had to wedge something in beside the tape, to get it to play properly?).

I was pretty shocked by the sound, which of course had little in common with Rumours, but this was at the height of my fandom, so nothing could stop me from falling in love with it!

I bought the album.
