Yes she has said several times before that Chris came to her in an orange grove and told her to write Crying in the night.

Btw, I do love the 1975 version of Crystal but I also love Stevie's 1998 solo version

Both Stevie & Lindsey have posted about it, in their networks.

Of course at those posts many people are asking for a reissue. But their words... like silent raindrops fell... and echoed... in the wells... of silence

I'm sure someone on here could verify but you'd think that the Buckingham Nicks album is one of the most sought after/wanted albums to be re-released period. The fact it's never been released on CD much less digital officially automatically sells the album period, besides who's involved and their history and legacy in music history. It would sell itself easily.

Just another missed opportunity in the realm that is Fleetwood Mac.

I played it for my oldest sister once (probably around 1979–80), and she said it was pretty good but it was “drug music from two hippies.” I said, “Pink Floyd was drug music from four hippies.” Her musical fare at the time was America, James Taylor, Three Dog Night, Alice Cooper. More than a few hippies there.

When you listen to the timbre effect they were going for of Lindsey and Stevie singing together, it’s obvious that it wasn’t smooth, tight harmony like CSN&Y, the Birds, the Everly Brothers, the Hollies, or the Motown R&B or doo wop groups. It was more like slightly rough and sloppy roots or country, or some Buffalo Springfield and Moby Grape or even early Grateful Dead, with pedal tones and piercing electric guitar lines. Lindsey and Stevie aren’t really super-tight in the classic harmony sense. They’re both “feel” singers. So . . . Buckingham Nicks is like Ian and Sylvia mixed with Moby Grape.

Did you guys ever hear Tommy Luxem cover “Races Are Run”? Tim ’n’ Jess cover “Long Distance Winner”? They make you appreciate Buckingham and Nicks.

Thoughts about breaking out in Birmingham. Why Birmingham? Just because one DJ decided he liked the album and started playing it a lot? That led to sold-out concerts? What if other DJs across the country had also started playing it a lot? Buckingham Nicks might have been an overnight sensation. Remember that Mick Fleetwood liked what he heard. You just had to hear it first. Imagine what could have been had people heard it in 1973–74. Something would have happened, I have no doubt.

Someone posted this video of clips of S&L over the years:

What is going on at the :20 mark? Clearly a Tusk photo shoot, but I've never seen that footage (Stevie in rust-colored blouse) before.....

This band and its members hold the record for "missed opportunities".

Also - in the liner notes of the Buckingham Nicks album, I have always wondered about the spelling of Stevie's name. The liner notes spell her name as "Stevi Nicks".

Was this a misprint, or was that the way that Stevie was spelling her name at the time? If so, at what point did "Stevi" decide to become "Stevie"?

By the 1975 Fleetwood Mac album, the spelling is changed.

Is there any chance RHINO has control over Stevie and Lindsey's social media?

Weird that they posted the same and tagged each other at the same time on Facebook.

I'm guessing it was management. Stevie wouldn't even be awake until 2-3pm.

That’s a question for her in the Elevator Game!

My thoughts on this record.

Frozen Love is the standout track. The interplay of the voices, the searing guitar. The song is catchy but not obvious at all. In fact, I have rarely heard anything else like it.

But the rest of B/N underwhelms me. It's the work of two promising, pretty people with good voices who have yet to fully find themselves. Nothing shabby about it, but hardly a classic. Long Distance Winner and Don't Let Me Down Again are worth repeated listens.

Jeremy Gloff and the crew including me are going to cover Buckingham Nicks on Jeremy’s Phonogenics 101 next week. I will post the link when it becomes available.

I love Billy and would never disrespect him but if he was somehow able to get his two early 80s albums released on CD and digital for the first time recently, there's no excuse why the same couldn't happen for Buckingham Nicks.

For a while it was widely known that there was some kind of joint ownership of the masters between Lindsey and Stevie. However, several years ago there was some sort of allegation that Keith Olsen had some kind of skin in the game and was not negotiable. He has since passed away. I don’t know if it’s ever been disclosed who owns what. It must come down to Lindsey and Stevie, I’m sure Rhino/Warner are well aware of the potential cash from such a release.

Come on... how much could it sell? 50k?
The band is 100, and their 75yo fan base isn't exactly known for keeping music alive.

The only thing that could sell is a deluxe box.

Other than that, there’s really no point. The music is available on the internet. It would be nice to have a proper digital version, but they missed there chance.

I think the idea floated of turning The Dance tour into a Buckingham Nicks 25th Anniversary reissue tour would have been the way to go. Swap out Christine with Waddy.
