Default Christine Caused Ticket Search Surge

http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news...rch-surge.html

Digital Spy, September 26, 2013

Fleetwood Mac's temporary reunion with Christine McVie during their London shows has caused a ticket search surge.

McVie, who left Fleetwood Mac in 1998, joined her former band on stage during their headline show at the O2 Arena last night for a rendition of 'Don't Stop', and is expected to perform with them again tonight.

The reunion has caused a sharp spike in ticket searches on viagogo. After Fleetwood Mac started their shows earlier this week, they saw a 286% increase in searches.

However, after McVie joined the group on stage on Wednesday (September 25), that rose by a further 117%, according to the site's figures.

"Fleetwood Mac are one of the most enduring music acts of the last 50 years, and now the full line-up have appeared on stage together it seems fans are desperate to snap up tickets to witness a great moment in music history," viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest said.

Stevie Nicks recently told Digital Spy that she was "thrilled" McVie was temporarily rejoining them.

"It's great to have her back and to do a song," she said. "She's been very, very missed, so even to have her back for a little while is going to be good."

Fleetwood Mac will perform a third and final night at London's O2 Arena tomorrow night (September 27).

Start of the article was already wrong with the dates.

So before Christine joined them last night there was already an increase in searches from the start of the Ireland/UK tour. Her performance has helped from them figures but it looks like she added an extra boost as opposed to "ticket search surge"

But it looked like these London shows had been sold out a long time anyway, so I wonder how much ticket sales could increase, since tickets were already nearly gone. I mean I started searching long before Dublin and I couldn't get any tickets. I kept waiting because sometimes there is a last minute release of tickets that had been held back. It didn't happen. I finally had to go to Stub Hub and get mine.

How is that wrong? She did leave in 1998 - the Rock & Roll hall of fame induction in '98 was her last appearance with them.

The Valley Advocate by Gary Carra, May 7, 2014

http://www.valleyadvocate.com/article.cfm?aid=17852

In other news, a study by one of the nation’s leading secondary ticket market outlets has revealed that Christine McVie is gold as far as Fleetwood Mac tour sales go. According to Ticket Liquidator, the average price paid for a Fleetwood Mac concert in 2013 was $161, with some fans nabbing seats for as low as $6.

McVie recently announced that she will be joining Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Stevie Nicks on Fleetwood’s fall 2014 North American tour. The move effectively reunites the most popular incarnation of the multi-platinum act for the first time since 1998. And judging by the spike Liquidator detected immediately following said announcement, fans of Fleetwood’s fab five aren’t taking their chances waiting for the proverbial musical moons to align again.

The present median price for tickets listed on Ticket Liquidator’s exchange is $185, the lowest, $51.

“Having those five members back makes all the difference,” Ticket Liquidator Entertainment Specialist J.P. Starkey notes. “They put on a fine show in 2013, but it’s just not the same without Christine. Now that she’s back, the On With The Show Tour could be one of their most memorable yet.”

To get in on the memories, get your tickets from ticketmaster.com—or ticketliquidator.com, for that matter—for one of the three area shows on the books. Fleetwood Mac’s On With The Show tour has scheduled stops at Boston’s T.D. Garden Oct. 10 and 25 and Hartford’s XL Center Nov. 1.

It's pretty simple to figure out, all you need are eyes. Christine really did, "Shake the Cage".
