Classic Rock Awards (Mick Promises to Return to UK in 2014)
http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/n...k-awards-live/
Classic Rock Magazine, Martin Kielty at 09:17pm November 14 2013 2125: WINNER: Reissue Of The Year, sponsored by Alchemy – Fleetwood Mac, Rumours 35th Anniversary Edition The 1977 classic has sold in excess of 45 million copies worldwide and includes the tracks Go Your Own Way, Don’t Stop and The Chain. The new three-disc edition includes additional live recordings, demos and early takes. Mick Fleetwood has recorded a thank-you video in a hotel lobby, sitting on his suitcases. The band have been touring on the back of an EP release, which saw them reunite with Christine McVie as a special guest. But guitarist Lindsey Buckingham says it’s down to Stevie Nicks whether they record another album. Best wishes go to John McVie, who recently confirmed he was being treated for cancer. Mick promises Mac will return to the UK next year as Fish promises the award will make its way to the US to the band… |

Hopefully that means that John is responding to treatment and doing well. If anyone in the band knows how John's doing, it would definitely be Mick.

Quote:
Did Mick make this statement before or after he found out the severity of John's cancer??? Mick is always saying things before they are fact... He did this at the end of the 2009 tour and then guess what Stevie says sorry guys I'm making a record you'll have to wait 2 or 3 years... It would be nice if he would wait until he's certain they will happen... |

[There should not be an award for reissue of the year. That kind of tribute really does not promote originality or artistry]
http://home.nzcity.co.nz/news/articl...ewsmain%2cnrhl James Dean Bradfield, the founding member of Manic Street Preachers, picked up the Musicians' Union Maestro Award, while rock legends Fleetwood Mac won the Re-issue Of The Year for 'Rumours - 35th Anniversary Edition', which was an expanded and deluxe version of the band's 1977 LP. |

Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood also sent a video acceptance speech. In it, he promised that the band, which had to cut short its 2013 tour plans after bassist John McVie was diagnosed with cancer, planned to play more shows in the U.K. again next year. |
