Default Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Much has been written about Bob Welch's exclusion from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
It looks as if the annual arguments about who is in and who is out have continued again this year. This years inductees are ELO, Joan Baez, Journey, Tupac, Yes and Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam were inducted for ever-present members Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament. When it comes to their drummers however it becomes a bit more difficult; Inducted with the others are original drummer Dave Krusen (who performed one song with them at the ceremony) and current drummer (and long time member) Matt Cameron. Also in attendance but not inducted was Jack Irons. Brief member Matt Chamberlain did not attend and was not inducted.

Perhaps most controversially Dave Abbruzzese was not inducted. Abbruzzese joined the band at the time of Ten's release (though he didn't play on the album) and was their drummer through their most popular period. He played on the massive follow up albums Vs and Vitalogy and had several song writing credits. Unfortunately he was fired from the band.

The band claims all former members (drummers) were invited to attend the ceremony. Abbruzzese has claimed he was never invited to attend. It seems as if he's particularly cut up about it having posted several (very sad) messages on various social media. I understand it was the Hall of Fame's decision who was and wasn't inducted. It's reignited the discussions about who should/shouldn't be in- included are the drummer who played on their first album but left before it was even released. Also included is their longest serving drummer who has appeared on 5 studio albums (albeit their lowest selling albums- all 5 achieving only US Gold status).

Anyway, I've seen some clips from the show- Pearl Jam were awesome.
