I'm ONLY disappointed that they feel they can't use the Fleetwood Mac Brand.
Other than that, I'm thrilled.

I'm happy to be getting another album. However, I detest how cutesy they're being calling it a duet album.

It's not.

Mick and John are on it, too.

It's as much a duet album as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Mr. Wonderful, Then Play On, Kiln House, Mystery to Me, Heroes Are Hard to Find, Say You Will, or Extended Play were.

Just tell us that, due to contractual obligations, you can't call it a Fleetwood Mac album.

I hope they eventually shed light on that.

Post Hmmmm....

well I just read the news about a "Buckingham/McVie" duet album. Sounds to me, whether they call it this or not, it's a Fleetwood Mac album minus Stevie. I don't know whether to be excited or not. I can't imagine Stevie not being on it. I'm thinking that she's out completely & not coming back to the band ever. I'm actually kind of sad Glad to hear that Lindsey & Christine are excited about it however.

The one silver lining in not calling it Fleetwood Mac is that it can continue as long as Lindsey and Christine want, regardless of the others.

Soooo if this comes out in May, do we expect a summer outing with the 4 maybe doing some smaller theaters?

That they're not calling it Fleetwood Mac tells me that Stevie is still in the band, otherwise they would simply call it Fleetwood Mac.

I think they are contractually obligated to have Stevie in the band for the big world tour, and are not crediting the album and small tour as Fleetwood Mac as a way to avoid confusion and to not alienate Stevie.

How is it an experiment?

"Working with them are two familiar names: Mick Fleetwood, whose towering drum kit is in the next room, and bassist John McVie."

How is this any different from Heroes Are Hard To Find or Say You Will? If anything, this is what Mick though he would be getting on New Year's Eve, 1974.

That's true... they didn't want another female.

How is it not an experiment if it's never happened before?

I really hope it's like TITN, just with less of a dated sound.

The experiment is that both Fleetwood and Mac are present, yet it's not called Fleetwood Mac. Although it's certainly possible, I don't necessarily see the name Fleetwood Mac being omitted due to a committee of managers and lawyers. It wouldn't surprise me if it was the natural consensus of the musicians involved. John especially is a pretty pragmatic guy. Plus, if there is to be a tour behind this album, are Mick and John guaranteed to be involved? I am also curious, will every bass or percussion note on the album be played by John and Mick? I have my doubts. With a name like Buckingham McVie, these seem like legitimate questions.
