Should Tina Turner really be inducted as a solo artist? She doesn't play an instrument...

Congratulations Stevie! You deseve this!

This is going to be a really good HOF show. I'm excited to see all the inductees next year.

Great! It's "simply the best", isn't it?

PS.. From what I gather (and I'm hardly a mega fan or anything), Tina these days has divorced the USA and is pretty much entirely devoted to the Japanese cult Soka (think Japan's version of Scientology, but appropriating Buddhism instead of science fiction). Her "Ommm" tracks on YouTube are good background music for studying/work.

She's lived in France for decades hasn't she? I remember an interview at some point where she said the place she lived there reminded her of her tiny hometown of Nutbush.

Stevie has won its award by himself and they deserves it!

Yeah, Soka has an international base in Switzerland, so around those parts.

Anyway, I'll give credit to Stevie for being consistent throughout her life to one country (the US of A) and one cult--that of her own fame!*

Yours,
Debbie DownOnRodeo Downer.

(* If you think I'm overexaggerating, an article titled "Stevie Nicks my Lord and Savior" just popped up on my Google News feed: http://www.dailycal.org/2018/12/03/m...-stevie-nicks/ )

I would of thought it would be Carole King. If you really think about think about it, Nicks is the only one who truly had dual careers.

After All of this talk of Todd Rundgren I listened to his top 5 songs on Spotify and it turns out my favorite Bob Seger song, Stage Fright is actually a Todd Rundgren Song clearly not that big of a fan of either of them! I just heard it on the radio a lot at work and credited it to seger.

Oh, the temper tantrums! Congrats to Stevie!

I guess I'm an "ardent Lindsey fan" and I admit it would be nice if she gave Lindsey a shout-out during her speech. Show herself to be the bigger person, and all that. I can understand if she chooses not to, though. I won't lose any sleep over it either way.

Have you guys ever heard the story that Rundgren's We Gotta Get You a Woman was written about Paul Fishkin?

The inspiration for this song's lyric is a music executive named Paul Fishkin, who managed Rundgren's pre-Nazz group Woody's Truck Stop and worked at the Bearsville label with him. He and Rundgren became good friends, and they spent much of the summer of 1969 enjoying everything Manhattan had to offer. Fishkin didn't have much luck with the ladies, which is what Rundgren wrote the song about.

And now both Stevie and Todd are Hall of Fame inductees!

Since Stevie hooked up with Fishkin in 1978, I think Fishkin is the one who asked her to sing at Rundgren's May 23, 1978, show at the Roxy.
