Thumbs up

Apparently it works the way mzero told us. This is the front cover of Keef Hartley's "Halfbreed" album. Just to try out.
Earp, we're desperately waiting for those pictures.

hi earp1001, i'm sure someone here can come up with a solution.

one possibility is you could email them to me as attachments. i can convert them to a more compressed format or save them at slightly lower quality. then submit them to the ledge.

in case this sounds like a good plan i'll send you a private message through the ledge with my email. just send me one image so that i can see if if this is a feasible solution.

there are other possibilities and some savvy people around here. i recall someone setting up a website to post scans of articles, but i can't remember exactly who or the context... tbc

Well, I guess the photos are saved as .bmp files. If that is so, you can open them with the Microsoft Paint program (standard utility in Windows), then save them as .jpg file. This compresses the picture by +/- 9%. which would make them approximately 12.5000 kb.
Good luck,
Wouter

Any photo editing software - even the most simple ones - will allow you to reduce the size of your photo to fewer pixels and thereby reduce the file size. Or, alternatively, if you open your photo file in Microsoft Paint as Wouter suggests (one of the standard Windows Accessories), you can open the "stretch/skew" dialog box (under the "image" pull-down menu) and stretch both horizontal and vertical dimensions to, say, 75% of the original, and then save that under a different file name (so you will preserve your original photo file). The new file should be significantly smaller than your original.

here is a shot that earp101 sent me. as wouter suggested i converted the file to a more efficient compression. the originals are .jpg, so i just changed the resolution a bit. these are 94% of the original resolution which reduces the file to a ledge acceptable size. i hope everyone can see it. if not i can do it a different way like sf2k suggests.

thanks to earp101 for this. he'll send more if this seems like an ok approach.

The file attachment came out fine, mzero. Nice photo, earp1001! So the method you used works fine, or earp1001 can try resizing the photo files himself and post them.
