Please don't bite my head off when I say this or think I'm ignorant, but I'm against this Oh Well contest cause it's mostly made up of bootlegs most people (including myself) haven't really heard at all and probably never will.

All you need to hear is Oh Well on Then Play On, The Tea Party Set, the BBC recordings, and FM live (1980).

Lindsey does a very good job, kinda-campy with it, but in truth Peter Green's performances of it are beyond compare.

Bob Welch does a good version, too, but you'd have to go to the bootlegs. Again, Peter's versions are by far and away the best.

Should not be included. Demos don't count.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Yeah those are demos. I'll remove them from this poll. Still gives us 8 songs!

Greenie's should be cause he did do the original after all, andf there only a few cases of where a cover was better than the original (Manfred Mann's cover of Blinded by the Light, Linda Ronstadt and Van Halen's covers of You're No Good, etc.). I have heard Bucky's version and I have to say that it's different and good in it's own way, but I like the studio recording I heard of Greenie's best.

And as for bootleg getting, I feel kinda strange getting 'em sometimes, especially from torrents (I heard problems with 'em taking up memory and, in my uncle's case, wrecking his computer), so I guess I'll give those a listen, which i know I can find on Napster.

I know this is probably too late, but since acoustic Go Insane is on the Dance, should it be considered?

Actually it's not... it's on The Very Best of.... I would think it shouldn't count simply because it's a solo song performed in a solo manner.

"Go Insane" is not eligible just as "Stand Back" won't be eligible for Stevie. Those aren't Fleetwood Mac songs.

Actually I never understood why FM perform those songs anyway. Isn't there enough FM material to perform?

It's probably because Stevie needed an uptempo, high-energy rocker to wind up the main set. That and she needs a song with an intro that gives her ample time to adjust her girdle backstage.

The tempo is actually pretty sluggish compared to, say, "Go Your Own Way." I think they want to sustain a certain momentum that starts with "Tusk," then "Stand Back," then "GYOW," then "Don't Stop." Stevie just doesn't have any really uptempo songs with FM! Although I think "Everybody Finds Out" comes close, but she will sing La Boheme before she touches that one.

While I may agree these are not FM songs, GI is on The Very Best of FM. While Stand Back is not.

"Stand Back" live is on The Chain box set. I personally think "SB" has been grandfathered in as an FM standard, but rules are rules!

Yeah I was surprised about that when I finally went through Rumours-related FM and beyond catalogue, as she always seems to refer to herself in terms such as "rocking". So EO17 and Stand Back were pleasant surprise to me (I've never heard Stand Back before and didn't know EO17 was Stevie... where is that ducking and hiding icon?).

Considering Stand Back appeared to be a rare song she looked like she enjoyed doing during recent FM tours, I'd say why not?
