Ha!! I hate that lyric, but I do like her lead vocal.

Kidding!

I guess I love that lyric because it’s so her.
Honest, unpretentious, sexually suggestive and flirty, and what she was looking for in a man.

Trouble

I also have some audio of the band screwing around with Edge of 17, but it’s hugely embarrassing.
About 20 years ago, I remember first hearing Christine sing Gypsy, courtesy of someone on this forum. At the time, I thought it was hilarious: Christine singing Stevie?! Now I hear it and marvel at how well she sang and navigated a song she didn’t write or regularly rehearse. She’s entirely at ease. The only strangeness is hearing her utter those lyrics, which are nothing like the simple, direct love songs I usually associate with her.

Wish You Were Here sounds great.

Well, slip your hand inside my glove, and we'll talk about it.

100% the same. I heard it long ago but now I appreciate it more for the reasons you mention. I mean, I could understand being able to "karaoke" another member's song pretty well that had already been toured ad nauseum, but this was a song she hadn't already listened to Stevie sing night after night after night. Find it hard to imagine Stevie managing the same with a new and more straightforward Chris song without getting it all mixed up, let alone the fact that Chris was also playing an instrument while singing. Perhaps they had to listen to the song over and over again as part of the MTV music video recording process?

That's because one of them is a very talented musician.

And the other one is Stevie.

That is certainly possible. I also think she and Lindsey gad to know the song inside and out while they arranged and recorded it. Their roles meant they needed to do more than just play instruments…

Certainly possible, too. I guess Mirage was recorded in a more team way than Tusk. And they all were in France, so they may have been together during the recording of all songs, including demos, early versions, etc.

Wow, you're right! I always thought it was bad. She covers it well for that rehearsal!!
