It's sad that he's gone... it's even more sad the way he went.

This hits hard. I interacted with him a couple of times on his online forums on bobwelch.com. Also a Facebook friend of his. Cool guy.
"Sentimental Lady" has been on my mind ever since I found out...

I just always enjoyed knowing that he and I had a similar conspiracy theory about the Splinter Group...

Oh man, this was totally unexpected..so sad, I love Bob's FM songs, and French Kiss is one of my all time favorite albums! He was a real unique, creative songwriter, singer, and musician, and he deserves to be in the hall of fame with FM.

The last time Bob posted anything on his Facebook page he said,
""Hi all....been laid up due to back surgery with a recovery time WAY longer than advertised...couldn't even type....back soon I hope ;-) BW". That was in April. Maybe something went horribly wrong after surgery..maybe the pain was more than he could handle I wondered. Having to deal with major pain on a regular basis myself , if pain was the reason I kind of understand why he did it. Found this article a little while ago that stated, "Bart Herbison, executive director of the Nashville Songwriters Association, quoted his wife Wendy as saying Welch had spinal surgery three months ago and doctors told him he would not get better, and he did not want her to have to care for an invalid. Here is the link http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...&ncid=webmail1 RIP Bob Welch

This is horrible! I loved Bob Welch's era of Fleetwood Mac. All the lineups that included him are among my favorites. RIP

They are playing Ebony Eyes on the radio station that I'm listening to right now. And I never knew that he sang this song. I like it.
