I really have no interest in seeing it. Maybe it is too soon, or I just don't like the idea of making money off it.

I saw the trailer when I went to see The Devil Wears Prada and the damn thing made me BAWL LIKE A BABY!! I cried through the whole thing...
I'm afraid seeing the actual movie may be very hard - but I'm actually a bit interested... |

Knowing about all of the people making money off of this movie is enough to make me never want to see it. Not only that, Nicholas Cage makes me want to hit things.

Me neither, I think it looks like a **** movie. I love it when Hollywood tells me how I should feel about and/or commemorate events such as 9/11. They really have their fingers on the pulse of it all . Oh and Mike, Nick Cage makes me want to hit things too...mainly his face .

Did anyone see the MTV special for the movie on CBS last night prior to Big Brother and Supernova? They interviewed Oliver Stone, Nicholas Cage, and the fireman that the story is based on. I only saw the last few minutes, and then the announcement that the proceeding was a paid program. I think this is the first time I have ever seen this type of advertisement for a movie. I guess they are trying really hard to get people to buy-into this film being made in the first place?

It's about two amazing men who SURVIVED! What's wrong with getting their story out??
And a lot of the actual firefighters and such are in the film - and I don't know - I think they're trying to do a good thing - |

I dont want to see it. It seems like a too touchy subject to make a movie out of.

I don't know - I have mixed feelings, but will probably see it - the trailer alone was very powerful. |

I only wish Josh were here to join you As for the movie, I read in Time Magazine that the people portrayed were elated that Stone told it as it was. So, the horses' mouths indicate this is a true telling of that horrid day. In the end, throughout recorded history have depicted actual events and I see this as no different than any of those other ventures, other than many people can't stand any thought of this event other than horror. Finally, how is Hollywood telling you how to feel? I do not get that comment. If you mean that you are supposed to feel a certain way while watching this - well isn't that what all plays and films do? |

Me too. But you can always count on him to talk with a stuffed nose, and be a hangdog dreary and dopey guy, no matter the character. At least he is consistent. I don't plan on seeing the flick.
