Default Mick's Island Rumours Video

Apologies if this video has already appeared here! I know it's not new, but I hadn't seen it before - a wonderfully filmed feature about the Island Rumours Band. Gotta love Mick's endless pursuit of new and entertaining ways of exploring music.

(Also gotta love Mick's bright red shoes -- he's wearing them on the current FM tour, he had them in the German TV interview, and he has them here. )

I think my favorite part here is Eric Gilliom's take on "Go Your Own Way," sounding like a young Lindsey. And Gretchen Rhodes really does have a wonderful silky/strong voice. Raiatea Helm's classic Hawaiian falsetto is certainly a unique addition (who would have imagined Mick's powerhouse drumming and a sweet Hawaiian falsetto combined? )

Fun, fun, fun. I think they'd be a blast to see live!

Are there any good concert/song bootlegs from Island Rumours Band out there?

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Default Unsure...

Not really sure how I feel about this... I don't dislike it, but I am uneasy about it. Something about this Rummours Island Band makes me feel uneasy. I don't know why. hmm....

I don't know why it would make you feel uneasy at all. It's just Mick playing a variety of music, including some FM hits. No different than Stevie doing her FM songs or Lindsey doing his in their solo concerts. Mick has done the same thing with the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, revisiting Peter and Jeremy's material as well as Rick's solo stuff.

If Mick is okay with it, why not us?

My humble opinion.

Mick also did it in his African drums album, The Visitor, with the BEAUTIFUL cover of "Walk A Thin Line"...

I hope he releases an Island Rumours Band album!
