Default Duran Duran

Anyone going to see Duran Duran on their current tour? I want to try and catch them when they come to Mohegan Sun, but good tickets are scarse apparently.

Mohegan Sun chaps my ass. I'm sorry, but I CANNOT sit during a concert. Or is that Foxwoods? I forget, but still.

Haha, a friend of ours went to see Aerosmith there, and people were yelling at them to sit down, and everyone just sat and tapped their foot, except for the people in the front rows. That's awful.

But yeah, about DD, I've been scowering Ticketbastard for two tickets, and the only thing coming up is in the very back of the arena.

Tapped their feet?! I saw Cher and Cyndi at one them and they expected us to sit. F*ck that. I stood up as soon as Cyndi took the stage and hollered like a fool. I paid almost $100 to see them together, I was going to get my moneys worth. What is the point of having people sit? I've no clue.

Have you called Mohegan? I saw the Pretenders there and only got tickets a week before the show and they were pretty decent. Try calling them, they might have some decent seats. They like to sell the ****ty seats online.

Ryan, keep checking on Ticketmaster- once a day. The label's only using about half their hold for that date, so about fifty good seats are going to start popping up when that hold's released.

I have tickets for Chicago.

All this Belinda worship- haven't we already been there before and back???

Ah.... Duran Duran. You see- for me- Duran Duran was the whole nine yards during my high school years. MTV had just launched a year or two ago. I had just gone to the US Festival '83 for three days. (By the way, Dissy- David Bowie was at the height of his powers that night- although Stevie was better- AND the fact that Bowie was over two hours late after Stevie finished was pissing a lot of people off, though the drugs mitigated things a bit).

This one time, at band camp..... no, really! I went to band camp in June of '83 (stop laughing, I'm serious...). And I was really, really aware of how gay I was. Ah, the thrill of discovering sex and orgasms in the piney mountains of Idyllwild whilst listening to the refrain...

"Save a prayer 'till the morning after
Save a prayer 'till the morning afterrrrrrrrrrr......
"

And wishing that the sex I was having was with John Taylor......

{snaps out of it}

Hey, where the hell am I???? Sorry, I got a little lost there on that tangent....

I have a boot somewhere of Stevie saying to the audience that she met David Bowie at the US Festival and he didn't have anything to say to her. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he was clean by that time and she was high as a kite.

I have to admit, though, that I've never been a fan of her US Festival performance. I think it's very dull. Maybe it was just something where you had to be there, ya know?

I agree with you. I have a tape of the performance and it's not great. However, being there with about 200,000 people and the atmosphere and the intoxicants and the sheer LOUDNESS of it all was an experience I'll never forget.

I went to the US Festival knowing that I was gay. After witnessing Stevie's performance in my lemon yellow OP corderoy shorts, I knew I was a fag.

He's STILL hotter than a mid-day sun on the surface of Mercury!

Actually, he's hotter now than he was then- with the chest hair and the smiley crows feet.....

I agree about his more hotterliness now.
I would like to see DD. And thanks for the band camp story, that was great...
