I’m going to withhold judgement until I’ve heard it all..

In that snippet, though...it sounds to be heartfelt, a bit like “Illume”
It actually sounded better than I imagined it would.
But I’ll wait.

Like Illume, the production is excellent. She snared one of the best producers around and the people she is working with are excellent.

Can they salvage this train-of-thought ramble?

Also, Cameron Crow is a great director. Will her video be great and why a video with no album to sell?

I like the sound but that lyric — that’s a really incoherent lyric: bits of phrases with marginal reference to something-or-other that may or may not have been politically relevant at some point all thrown into a blender. That’s not lyric writing, it’s verbatim transcription from a diary. It’s Stevie Salad. It’s copy-pasta. I do wish Stevie would build songs out of her musings and put some serious work into it, the way she once did (Dreams, Landslide, Gold Dust Woman, Crystal, Crying in the Night).

Oof. What Mabel Normand could’ve sounded like but somehow didn’t.

She also considers this new song the equal of Edge of Seventeen. In the other thread I said that if it was I would vote for Trump...what a relief !

It is rambling and sort of tuneless. It seems well produced but I think it deserved the runaway train feel of Mabel Normand rather than this calm and serious feel. Even Dance with the Devil was a bit more convincing and seemed to go somewhere unlike this. Her vocal lacks conviction and intensity too. Lyrics are so...American, I guess, doesn't really resonate with me. Overall it is meh and I won't download it or anything.
