Below is a link to my meet n' greet review from last year.....

My seats weren't great, seven or eight rows back, a little disappointing, but I rushed the stage with everyone when the lights dimmed to get near the stage, but I did expect better seats.

Overall I was satisfied with the experience, would I pay the increase and go again? only if I was meeting additional members of the band, seems too much of a price hike for me!

Thanks for sharing! One thing I wasn't clear on -- Did you have the package that was "guaranteed" within first 5 rows (and then found yourself in row 7/8)?

Thanks!

Thanks!
At the London gigs, the "guaranteed" seats were the first eight rows if I recall correctly.

For $750 you should at least get a bottle of his wine or some coupons for dinner at his restaurant...

$750 for the same exact package that last year cost $425 with the ony addition being an 8x10?

Nope. I'll take my chances with pre-sales and general sales and whatever else.

Thumbs down I'm out.

I'm definitely out on Mick's M&G now. Will just get regular tickets.

Hugely disappointed in the price hike.

I know it's pricey, but at least he throws in a meet'n'greet. Some bands charge as much or more without one!

It's all market-driven; they will charge what the public is willing to pay, just like any other business. I was reading an interview with Irving Azoff a while back where he said something to the effect that the runaway success of the "secondary market" [scalpers] made it evident the most popular artists/bands were undercharging for the best seats in terms of market value, and it wasn't right that all that extra money was going to third-party scalpers instead of the band who was the actual draw. In business terms, he's correct. The entire ticket broker industry, which is flourishing, is dependent upon the disparity between market value and face price. The VIP aspect is a way to make it look a bit less crass for the band to charge so much while still allowing them to reap the monetary rewards of selling the tickets for a price more reflective of their market value, IMHO.

The truth is that even without Mick's involvement, many people would pay $750 for a seat in the front 5 rows. This is the Rumours 5; it's historic. I assure you that scalpers will be charging - and getting - more money for poorer seats, at least in the most lucrative markets like NYC.

It sucks for fans who aren't able to afford it and the idea of paying so much more than we've done in the past for a few hours of entertainment is galling, but it's the reality of capitalism.

$750 is a bargain compared too what the "Farwell Tour" meet & greets will be going for...

yes. people seating one row behind me at my home show last year paid $700 through plats for their seats, while i paid $425 for Micks with m&g.

front row platinums were well over $1000 at most shows last year, and well over $2500 in Cali and NYC. they were disappearing from TM so someone was buying them.
