Then when the Dance came around, we saw this gorgeous, sexy, focused, and happy Stevie. She was a real sexpot during the Dance, IMO. She looked fit and healthy. The rest is history!
*nod* Dissention, I totally agree-- she became a total sexpot during the Dance! I think 1997 on to now is the best she has ever looked. I don't know what happened in 94-97, but something certainly changed her for the better. She seems happier and healthier now. Go girl

That's for sure! I think just her confidence and happiness alone is incredibly sexy! She enjoys what she does so much more nowadays and it shows. GDW from The Dance sent shivers up my spine, she could put any 20-year-old bimbo to shame! She exuded raw sexuality...

What I'm confused about is, why would fans be dissapointed when they first saw Stevie?
If you had seen Stevie on TOSOTM tour in '89 and that was your first time seeing her, you were in for a shock. She sang in a strange monotone, due to the klonopin, I'm sure and was very heavy. She stood at the microphone and didn't move. It was only two years earlier that she looked and sounded like her incredible self with Fleetwood Mac. Then, on the next tour, the BTM tour with FM, she was thin, effusive and fine in her performances. Then again, for Timespace she had gained weight but sounded fine. So in essence, post Betty Ford there seemed to be a lot of extremes in Stevie's music, health, performance and appearance after coming off of a 10-15 year drug habit (s). It would take anyone time to sort it out. Then she got hooked on a prescription drug. By the time she got off of that, the industry had changed, she hadn't made a record in a while and what she put out wasn't (she felt) her best work. The record was a commercial failure in comparison to her past work. So she did something very smart. She took a break, put herself back together and reconnected with Lindsey to do a song for a movie soundtrack, Twister. One thing lead to another and they decided to do The Dance.
Hope this answers some of your questions.

Yes, between nearing forty and the booze bloat her body changed.

Cripes, I bloat up like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Turkey float if I eat two slices of bread. If I have ice cream, my ass jiggles for a week. Add to that the fact that I get more wrinkles every day, my cellulite is more apparent than Chuck Woolery's rug, and my stretch marks are so big they could have their own zip code. Ah, aging.

I think Stevie is holding up pretty well.

*lol*
Again, you and I have a completely different viewpoint!

I thought Stevie looked FANTASTIC in pics from those free concerts in 1996!

Here are two from the August 24th concert in Columbus, OH.
One on-stage (which is one of my all-time favorite Stevie pics), and one back-stage.

FREE CONCERTS????? Why? Was she so bad she couldn't even get money for a show?

The only reason I'll ever give a **** about Stevie's weight is because I want her to be healthy. Critics can go to hell, they don't matter anyway- they're just journalists who can't get a real job, so they have to spew their egotistical filth all over everything, as if anyone cares what they have to say in the first place.

End of story.
