Obviously no one who wasn't actually there can know what truly went down, but practically every single 'source' has said it all started with the conflict over the tour dates.
The most useful piece of information we've gotten is the conversation that Elle posted with Rick Turner and it does seem indicate that that is what was at the base of it, and presumably it got ugly from there.

They really must have ticked you off. Because you've been a great supporter of this band. You've even called me out for my bitching... (which I'm fine with)

I truly understand the disappointment. It's just such a slimey move. Do they care so little for their fans? Grown ass people.. and they let commerce get in the way of what they always sold us as magic. It hurts.
