Just Heard From James At Eagle Rock Entertainment!
According to him "We are not releasing the album in the States...someone else is handling that."
WTF????? Why go to all the hassle of doing a US press release when you're not even releasing the album here??? And if they aren't, who is???? Looks like we're back to square one, folks! (Unless you want to pay for an import or got the bundle through Ticketmaster!). |

also, i didn't see them mentioned anywhere for the whole album release yet, just for SWS free download; guess they might be involved in the whole album release too. |

Man, this is turning into a MAJOR clusterf**k!!!!
(But he's not alone.....the same thing is happening with the new ones from Blondie and the Bangles....release dates have been given out, but no info on how or where to purchase. Ah, the joys on indie releases!!!) |

It doesn't take much to get an album on iTunes. Super, super indie artists with NO name recognition can get their album on iTunes so regardless of anything else, I would be SHOCKED if the album didn't end up there on release day. I know everyone's holding out for a hard copy but again, I'd be very, very surprised if there wasn't an option available for that as well, even if it ends up being directly through his management.

I really wouldn't sweat it. If this were August 30 and there was no word, I would say let the freakout begin. But as it is, there's still two weeks to get a good 4 week pre-order promotion together for all of August. I wouldn't even be surprised if it's two weeks before when they start the preorder stuff. (Gillian Welch's didn't start until 2 weeks before Harrow and the Harvest came out.) It's a lot harder trying to bring it all together on your own versus with a major label.
And if he's using TopSpin, there could be some really cool preorder stuff done through his website. They're more of a online marketing company than a distributor, although they will and do handle merch direct from the artist. Lindsey could easily get an Orchard account for physical and online outlet distribution or even work with a label on that. |

[looked at a press release about Universal Music buying Eagle Rock. Their definition of "recently" differs from mine!]
http://www.consumerelectronicsnet.co...inment-3173342 Eagle continues to operate two audio music labels and has recently released both physical and digital albums by Ronnie Wood, Lindsay Buckingham, Gary Moore, Styx and Counting Crows. |
