Grant Green is a must list player. What about players such as Barney Kessel, and Charlie Byrd? I liked jazz guitar immediately when I heard my mother's Charlie Byrd albums at a very young age.

Default Thanks Mr K

I love the varried tastes of fellow discerning listeners.

I have to check out those guitarists. I can never get enough of good music

I notice no one mentioned George Benson. sometimes viewed as a pop phenom
his early blues jazz stuff was frightenly superb. it often gets lost "On Broadway"

I have in my last post mr d but just his surname he is unbelieveable his talent is verging on madness. Check out some of his youtube videos with the great chet atkins he leaves him standing. Probably one of the greatest guitar players of all time and he can sing like a mo fo too. I love the album give me the night, i know its 80´s and stuff and prob uncool but quincey jones produced and there are some great songs on there from rod temperton and benson is in fine form. But green had a musicality that sits with these jazz greats for me just to bring it back a bit.

I think im in a better position to comment about who plays what on it now then when you first posted this comment (ive listenend to loads i mean )and i think snowys lead playing is very diff to peters.I think im right anyway and im pretty sure i can spot the difference on the tracks generally. Snowys playing seems to be more like stock lead phrases, tidy but like with no musical story if you know what i mean.
