who knows and I never heard LB deny it - of course it is possible his memory is foggy

In the end - she willingly worked and took care of him. Who are we to judge

That's certainly one very cutting view to take, isn't it? There are others one could take that suggest he was turning himself inside out exploring all options to figure out a way to make the double album, and then upon further consideration, decided it wasn't healthy to his life to shoulder all of the pressure alone.

Diss. and I could both get you with that one as we are both fans of it - though it seemingly could be lumped into his insufferable nomenclature

we are talking about Diss here - pretty much everything is either black or white - no inbetweens and lord love him for it

Who are we to judge? Seems like lots of us are pretty willing to judge based on this thread. LB, man what a lazy ass loser.

Has LB denied it? Not that I know of. Of course LB doesn't really talk very much about his life pre-FM in any regard.

I never called him that and have repeatedly qualified my statements as such. I just said the stories indicate he did not work and Stevie did and who would blame him for that - what guy does not want a hottie servicing him.

Now - Diss is judging him and alienating affections at the same time

Not as insufferable as Say You Will, Thrown Down, and Illume. Christ, I pray that I go deaf when the album nears those songs. Her doe-eyed woman-child schtick has gotten so old.

Nah, I like Silver Girl to a degree, I don't try to hide it.

I don't judge him, I just think that all the facts we know about point to him being lazy. Doesn't make him a bad person or bad musician, just lazy at that point in time.

Seeing as how he's had the same "cycles" script for almost ten years, no, he doesn't talk of it much.

No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't write an insufferable song about it, either.

"Insufferable" is my opinion.
Yes, it was. But you were framing your argument as if it were part of his opinion.

The fact that he opted to turn it into yet another Mac project with insufferable Stevie Nicks songs after his album had been rejected in the nineties makes it obvious that money was part of the equation.
Sure, but that doesn't make it the only part of the equation.

No, it isn't. Keep up, dear.
LOL, yeah sorry. Trying to follow the debate logically is probably silly if the other keeps shifting the ground to suit their points.

Well, yes, I think they can. One was made when he was trying to convince a bandmate who is overly fixated on the money to look at something else. The other was made after several band fights and after looking at the possibilities of shouldering all financial losses on his own

I got the impression overall that LB was very worried about the commercial success of this record and how it would affect his life. I think he just refused to believe that a double CD would not sell.
Okay. I didn't get that same impression at all. I think he knew he needed to think about commercial concerns, but he didn't want to let that be too much of a determining factor that shaped the album. I also think he absolutely knew a double album would sell less and that was the whole reason for trying to come up with an analogy that would appeal to Mick's artistry and might remove some of the sting from probably making less money.
