Is there a ~NOT FM~ forum here? Oh yeah, CHIT CHAT.
Because folks are discussing who could have been talented enough to replace Lindsey. There are few individuals who can sing, write, play guitar, and produce at Lindsey's level.

That’s not at all the intention of this thread. I started it. It was supposed to be a humorous guess at who the mystery audition was.

Thanks, Mick. Nice try.

Huh? You actually started this by proposing Rob Thomas and Dave Grohl even though there is zero evidence that either was ever considered. Then you proposed Richard Thompson. And then you object to others proposing similar names. This "Lindsey Ledge" is truly an alternative universe ...

I think that's a sign of the fact that it wasn't meant seriously...
And if you don't like the Lindsey Ledge as you keep calling it you don't have to come on here. This certainly isn't the only place where people talk about Fleetwood Mac, there are fans everywhere online who's discusssion you might prefer.

Apparently, you lack reading comprehension.

TREAD TITLE:
“Who was the first audition speculation

Speculation:

1. the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence.

PREMISE OF THREAD:
Just for fun, who do you think the other audition was and why?”

“Just for fun” implies that this isn’t a serious thread. It’s just for fun.

And, the only objection I had was to John Mayer. I’d love nothing more than Richard Thompson to be in the band, but he operates in a polar opposite way from Fleetwood Mac.

What do you guys think of the idea of Steeleye Span joining Fleetwood Mac? It's just an idea I had.

Without Brett, they could add Steely Dan…

Thanks. Please kindly point me towards a Fleetwood Mac fan forum that isn't obsessively focused on the alternative reality of Lindsey being victimized by the evil forces of Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks.

Again, YOU speculated that Rob Thomas, Dave Growl, and Richard Thompson were considered for the Lindsey's replacement even though there is ZERO evidence that any were ever considered. Then you got upset that I mentioned Gary Louris and you posted a very "non-fun" criticism of my post. Would be good if you all kept it fun and enjoyable here, but sadly that's not the case. And I would argue that John Mayer would have been a perfect replacement for Lindsey. Like Lindsey, John can write, produce, and play a mean guitar. He also has a mystery and mystique to him like Linsey and would have a brought a youthful, energetic swagger to the band. Hey I'm a huge Finn fan but I can still appreciate John Mayer's talents.

Go ask one of your sources.

I guess maturity isn't one of your traits although consistency is. I'm serious. I'd be happy to find a Fleetwood Mac fan forum that isn't focused on how Lindsey is a victim. If you know of one, please let me know.

Exactly. Just for fun, I formed a theory/conjecture without firm evidence strictly for pure entertainment value, all implied in the title and stated premise of the thread. If you actually read the why, it would have been obvious that this wasn’t serious.

Huh? I don’t know/care who that is. Never heard of him. I only saw Hot Dog Mayer.

All I said is that I’d rather hear Oscar Mayer than John Mayer and posted a Richard Thompson video, all pretty obviously tongue in cheek. (Although, I really do not and never have cared for Hot Dog Mayer.)

I’ve never claimed Lindsey was the victim, just that what the band said wasn’t accurate. I’m down with the new lineup, but there’s enough out there that refutes what the band said was the reasoning for the split. I know enough about bands and specifically this one to know whatever they say publicly has many layers that we’ll never completely know.

But, try a Stevie Nicks forum.
