Default Songbird Japan (wow)

This version of Songbird, really helped me capture the emotion of what the song is about. And I believe because the song is so young in this time period, we hear her stay truer to the main vocal line. There's even some glimpses of really raw emotion coming from her voice. I notice Christine's smiling.. really enjoying singing this song to the audience far accross the Pacific..

I'm not as crazy with the trio arrangement.. mainly because at times the blend is off and also because nobody solo'd in the solo section... which Christine should have taken it since this tune is about her and the audience....
haha look at me telling Christine McVie how to do her job

Anyway, would love to hear everyone's constructive comment.. whether it be positive or negative... (I miss Homer and dissention at times like these)

There's an even better performance of it from the night before, in Osaka, but it's not on video.

I like the 1977 sound of the trio on this. It's Rumoursy. I don't know how else to explain it. Of course, playing it live in 1980, Chris got a bit fancier with her instrumental bridge. But this style -- with the bass & the more prominent rhythm guitar -- is a nice alternative to later performance styles.

I mean, it's all Beethoven, isn't it?

"God bless you ... & drive home safely."

It's not that I don't like it.. I just think they could have jazz'd it up instead of slowly plodding through the song without someone throwing a solo over it.. Christine had ample opportunity to twinkle toe through those chords making the blend balance out a little more...

I've always loved this song very much, but its only recently become one of my top Fleetwood Mac songs of all time (the rest of the spots are entirely taken by Stevie with a little Lindsey). I think of it differently now that I kinda realize the sound of sacrifice in her voice. It's a happy little love song that isn't all-too-happy. It's bittersweet and real.

I love this version. I get what you're saying-- haven't seen this video in quite some time. Thanks for posting!
