I don't know about insurance but it sounds like it would be more like a contract...
The band was hired to do a one off show and I would imagine there is a clause covering what happens if the band is unable to honor the contract...

Yes, but it would be interesting to know if that covered John.

Without a doubt, if Stevie or Lindsey could not perform, they have some sort of protection from being sued, but would that clause cover John as well? Or would there be some kind of contingency saying if John couldn't play, they'd find a replacement?

From my perspective, I would hope that all four of them would be covered, but I wonder.
