'Tusk' definitely sold more than 2 million copies in the US so if they then counted the double album then it would've been 4xPlatinum but I think it was just before that came in.

'Tango in the Night' has sold over 12 million copies worldwide and 'Greatest Hits' has sold very close to 20 million.

I thought Tusk sold 4 million copies? I also thought Tango sold more than 3 million.

Glad to see several of the early albums Gold. Also good to see Behind the Mask Gold.

Anyone know if Christine McVie 1984 has ever been near Gold status? I have never found that out.

certified 4X platinum, but each album counts twice for a double album so it actually sold around 2 million.

Question: Why do they keep releasing Rumours every other year in some package or other?

Answer: Because it's still selling.

But other things might sell, if they'd just give them a try. Tango was the #2 album. Why not just see if repackaging it would stir any interest anywhere.

We know they like to make money, so it's shocking to me that they (or the record company) seemingly shut the door on so many varieties of profit and just focus on one. We'd also buy video. Old video from Rumours, Gypsy video. New concert video. They will sell a lot fewer tour programs now than they would have if they'd had a program to start off with. I mean, they just overlook huge revenue possibilities.

wonder how much of that is part of the band politics of getting all the disparate opinions/managers/lawyers/band members/ hairstylists to come to some agreement

Aren't worldwide sales figures more what we want rather than just US?

No - who cares what it sold anywhere else. The United States is the only country that counts.

Yeah I never really understood this, as it seems (IMO) to really inflate how popular a double album actually was. On the other hand, you are paying more for it since its a double, but I always thought the better way to certify double albums would be to count them at 1.5 times the sales. That way it accounts for the higher cost/higher profits, but it doesn't double the actual units sold.
