Default Buckingham Nicks cd

I stumbled across this article on a Wisconsin newspaper/magazine website. I wanted to share and see if anyone else has read it. Stevie sounds firm on the release of a B/N cd but I'm skeptical.

As Fleetwood Mac slowly gears up for a massive world tour tentatively scheduled to start in March 2018, Mick Fleetwood revealed that Stevie Nicks is interested in diving deep into the band's catalogue. Fleetwood spoke to Rolling Stone and explained, "She said to me, 'Let's sit down and really listen to some stuff that sort of almost got forgotten.' So I know she's already thinking she wants to do some things we haven't done in years. I always think that Stevie and Lindsey (Buckingham) should do a Buckingham Nicks song in the set. And have Christine (McVie) do a blues song. I hope it certainly won't be the same show as we did before. We always played nearly three hours, and we cut it back a little bit for the wear and tear, but we do over two hours. And when you got three singers, which is, like, three bands, really, to get that perfect set, it's a trip."

When pressed about the fact that Stevie Nicks doubts that the Mac will ever record as a unit again, due to a perceived lack of interest from the record buying public, Fleetwood was quick to deflect any negative vibes, by saying, "I'm not super keen on getting into all of that. But what I do know is that the music of Fleetwood Mac, and the music from everyone that coexists in and outside of that band, is everyone's prerogative. She is gonna be there next year when we begin a tour and spend the better part of 18 months wandering the planet. And this band has to be able to (allow) that and have no blame game at all. If you want me to say, 'Hey, the utopian dream would be that before we hang it up, we all play (new) stuff (in the studio). . .' but we play onstage! God knows we've sacrificed huge chunks of time for this strange animal known as Fleetwood Mac, so I'm OK with it."

When we last caught up with Stevie Nicks, she told us that plans are definitely underway to prep the long out of print 1973 Buckingham Nicks for its debut release on CD: "We're going to try and put the record out. The only reason why it hasn't come out is because it kinda belongs to three different people and it's like owning a car, a third of a car. And everybody has to be on the same page and nobody has ever been on the same page. So we're hoping this year people will get on the same page and we can put it out."

We asked her if there's any chance for a few Buckingham Nicks nuggets popping up in future shows: "Very possibly! Very possibly! 'Cause we. . . that's easy. Yeah."

Fast Facts:

Buckingham Nicks was released in September 1973 on Polydor Records.

Among the performers on the album are John Lennon drummer Jim Keltner, Elvis Presley's backing band members guitarist James Burton, drummer Ronnie Tutt, and bassist Jerry Scheff.

Also making an appearance is future Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, and Keith Richards sideman -- guitarist Waddy Wachtel.

It was the album's closing number, "Frozen Love," that gained Mick Fleetwood's attention while scouting Los Angeles' Sound City recording studio. The album's producer, Keith Olsen, played the track as a demonstration of the studio's capabilities and hooked Fleetwood who soon asked Buckingham -- and by extension -- Nicks to join Fleetwood Mac.

Two of the Buckingham Nicks tracks would be included on future albums -- Nicks' "Crystal" found a home on Fleetwood Mac's 1975 self-titled collection and a live version of "Don't Let Me Down Again" was featured on 1980's Fleetwood Mac Live.

"That's Alright," one of Stevie Nicks' contributions to the band's 1982 album Mirage, was first recorded during the Buckingham Nicks pre-fame "coffee plant" demos.

Another "coffee plant" demo -- "Without You" was recently re-recorded for Fleetwood Mac's 2013 Extended Play EP.

Lindsey Buckingham has included the Buckingham Nicks instrumental "Stephanie" in his solo set lists, and featured it on his 2012 live collection, One Man Show.

Stevie Nicks tapped heavily into the legendary "coffee plant" demos for her 2014 Top Ten album, 24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault, and has recently began performing the Buckingham Nicks song "Crying In The Night" during her recent shows.

that quote about three people is old. So I'd be cautious about thinking anything is in the works.
