I thought...
Stevie looked great on the TISL compared to the current tour...
I can't judge her on the Dance tour since I wasnt paying attention to FM then (Though I was always a Stevie fan moreso than FM...) Brian j.

Oh well to me they are very unflattering, compared to how she's looking these days...but you're right that's just a matter of opinion...IMO her face looks bloated in those pics, and her hair is horrible...but you have to understand I'm not bashing Stevie...I think it's ok for Stevie fans to NOT always praise her....

She looked THE BEST during Enchanted By Far. And SYW comes in second, with TISL by far the worst recent era for her looks wise.

Her new outfits are not my favorite either. I do not care for the cardigan look. But as far as her beauty - she is totally a natural beauty and always will be. The first two concerts that I saw them this summer (Pittsburgh and Philly #1), she looked pretty tired. However, at Philly #2 she looked much more radiant and rested. I will love the woman no matter how she looks, so even though I don't care for some of the new styles, she still is fabulous to me!

I think that Stevie looked good in that Letterman pic and the one with Chris Issac...I don't know, I guess I don't think that there was anytime that Stevie has ever looked bad...I mean, it's not like she's going to look like a portrait everyday--we all have bad hair days and just flat out bad days...I'm sure that Stevie is just looking tired now b/c of what she's going through physical wise, it's not her choice that's she's getting older and no longer going to be getting menstrual cramps(damn u! LOL!)...It's the menopause, poor Stevie--I sure as hell hope she doesn't act like my mum Anyway, I don't think that Stevie's hair makes her look old--I think she's bootiful During The Dance she was of course really pretty then too but I think she was laying off on the make up more, it seemed as if her face looked more flesh toned...I don't know but we all know that she's gone through a lot and she's just one great person that I can not really find anything wrong with--except her views on Clinton...*shivers*

I have a school photo of myself from 5th grade, that looks JUST like that pic of Mr. Rogers!
I should find it and post it. Ironically, "Mr. Rogers" is something I used to get called in school. That, and "Shirley Feeney" (I was a "goody-goody")... as well as a whole heap of things that aren't appropriate to post here. But that's another story.

i actually thought I caught her at Jones Beach during the TISL tour with her platforms, not the hideous sneaker-y things she is sporting now. And these made their debut in 1989 during TOSOTM tour. As for hotness have to agree with several of the points raised here. She was definately more attractive (in my opinion) during the 1997 shows, the bangs are much much more flattering to her and make her look younger and less drawn out. And, she did appear less animated on this tour. I think the corsets do indeed cinch her waist to give her a more attractive bust and curves in waist, whether this is absolutely required now considering her weight loss since mid-nineties is unknown but she probably happens to like the style. If the shoulder pads come back again like she was wearing during TOSOTM, BTM, and Timespace tours then we'll know for sure she's hiding extra cargo.

Stevie looks really great on this tour, as beautiful as ever. She obviously doesn't look like she did during the '76-'79 tours...(the look/stage body language which makes me drool everytime I see her from that era..)..but that's called the difference between being 20-something and being 50-something....(and the fact that I myself am 20-something!). Generally speaking though, she is one of the most naturally beautiful women I have ever seen, and that's an attribute that age can never take away. |

Re: Stevie is hotter this concert then the Dance, who agrees?

I mean, we can send folks to hit golf balls on the moon, but we can't create more attractive footwear than those Reeboks to make Stevie taller while keeping her orthopedically comfortable? If that story is true about her walking in to the first Mac rehearsal this year wearing those things & the guys all busting out laughing, I am forever grateful to them. I think the other part of the question was about when we think Stevie looked her best. I'd say at Cal Jam 2 in 1978. She didn't look like anyone's doughy big sister in those days, which fans seem to really dig now. She looked like a kick-ass rock goddess: the kind of image that was possible only in the sybaritic 1970s. |
