Default When She Comes Down - best of his career?

Anyone else aside from me think that "When She Comes Down" belongs on a list of best Lindsey songs ever?

For me it's straight out of "Surf's Up" by the Beach Boys. I think it's pretty perfect and it makes me wonder what a Fleetwood Mac album would have sounded like if the best of Seeds We Sow had been put together with the best of "In Your Dreams".

Stars Are Crazy to When She Comes Down to Rock Away Blind is one of the best Buckingham trifectas since Out of The Cradle.

I agree with everything you have said.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

It's a pretty trio, But what with:

"Wait for You"
"Love Runs Deeper"
"Bel Air Rain"

Or maybe just as good:

"The Right Place to Fade"
"Gift of Screws"
"Underground" ?????

THE argument that GOS is his solo masterpiece? Yes... shackin' up is right. BUT When She Comes Down is sublime.

I think WSCD is perhaps the worst on the album. It's an ok song and I don't skip it but it wouldn't make a compilation if I was making it.

My main problem with it is the sound. First, it sounds a little too 80s. Second, it's uber-compressed to the point of actual distortion and that annoys me because it feels like should be clean. The instruments aren't given space to breathe.

However, this is all a fairly minor gripe that doesn't stop me listening to it. I just wouldn't call it anywhere near his best.

I agree. Except I do skip it, when I'm not purposefully listening to the album as a whole. I'm not exactly sure what it is that bothers me about it but I personally don't like it at all.

So funny (and interesting) how songs affect different people.
Gift Of Screws is the only Buckingham album that never got under my skin.
I like all the songs but I never fell hard for it as a whole and it felt
pretty disposable. Loved the original GOS as an unreleased demo...

If someone who never heard his solo work asked me where to start,
I'd recommend Seeds We Sow, Out of the Cradle and Under the Skin.

It's another case of one song recalling another but the original being better....I just think Treason when I hear it. that's my ears though. And treason is better. WSCDA....an ok song on an ok album.

I agree with this. I am unsure of the exact issue, but the chorus acoustics sound very muddled.

I do love the song, though.

I always assumed the over-compression we're hearing is intentional.
A little lo-fi trick that Lindsey has been doing on and off for the past 10 years or so.
