Lyric Confusion
I have some confusions on 24K gold. These came straight from the lyric booklet
Well her life was a gas - from Mabel normand I sit not in flight - Blue water What does this mean? |

Stevie's saying that Mabel's life was wild/a lot of fun.
http://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/20...its-a-gas.html She's in a resting position, not moving.

Maybe it's because I'm English, but I thought "it's a gas" meant that it was a sh** time? Like
"wow my job is such a gas omg" or something along those lines. Like Mabel's life was sad, and destructive. |

No, "it's a gas" is definitely American slang for "a fun/wild time".
