Answered a question about Warren Zevon.

Asked about doing selections from Out Of The Cradle.
LB said he got some complaints about only doing one song from OOTC last time, but since they'll be doing a more rocking set, they'll be doing more from that album.

Someone should ask his opinion about albums being leaked online before the actual release date.

Yep, I heard it, David. This Rockline is SO much better (knocks on wood. LOL) than the last one. Great questions so far and I am LOVING the songs he's doing and that Bob is playing.

OOTC!!! YES!!!! Our "complaining" worked ya'll!! LOL

Right Place to Fade aka Twist of Fate!

Greg asked him about doing Crossroads with Little Big Town.
LB says it was a really fun show to do -- says that in some ways LBT has similar reference points because of the male-female relationships. The whole thing meshed really well very quickly -- only had one day to put it together.
Was very happy to do that and they were great guys. Says when you pull yourself out of your genre, you want to be sure it's a good fit -- hasn't seen a lot of those kinds of shows, but says sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Going to play "Right Place To Fade" now. Says it's an analogy for shutting down because of things in Fleetwood Mac and then realizing you need to move on. Says it's like in a movie ( ), knowing when to fade one scene to get to another.

I would still bet MONEY that he's saying "twist of fate". DOLLARS.

Can anyone with good ears pick out any big differences in this version that the leaked one we've had? The mix is probably a bit clearer (hard to tell on the livestream), guitar sounds more prominent. Can't tell if the vocals are new or not. Wish I could!

I think in "Lindsey language" saying there was no one after Stevie until meeting his wife means that, retrospectively, the other relationships weren't significant in the long-run. Possibly due to immaturity, the times/lifestyle, his mindset, etc. But I don't think he's forgotten about those ladies. They just aren't as important, in the long-run, as his relationship with Stevie Nicks was and what he has with his wife and kids now.

But I digress because...

"Out of the Cradle" songs being played in concert???!!!??? Oh my...Lindsey... I am officially thrilled to be your fan right now. THANK YOU. I'm a happy girl.

Bob just used the word "organic" and Lindsey did NOT say "organic"! Write this down!

David in North Carolina asked about National Lampoon's Vacation soundtrack.

LB said it was a fluke -- ran into Harold Ramis who directed the movie. They struck up a casual friendship and HR recruited LB to write for the movie.
Sort of proud of it, because he thinks maybe it informed the movie a little. Was one of those lucky things that happens. Ramis was surprised that it was as good a fit as it was.

Chad in Tulsa asking about OOTC -- brilliantly arranged. Feels "Did You Miss Me" sonically sounds like it could have been pulled from that album -- wondering if the whole of GOS is more in the vein of OOTC.

LB says UTS was about letting a couple of tracks do the work of the songs, but not a full representation of what he can do. Says that GOS is more like OOTC than any of his other albums -- feels it's a stronger album than the last and if one likes OOTC they'll probably like the new one.

Marty in California asking about the writing process -- lyrics first or melody on guitar.

LB says not a writer in the traditional sense -- process of recording is like painting ( ), and the process of writing is entertwined with the process of recording.

Marty asking a second question -- when LB goes into the studio to record vocals and guitar parts, how does he know it's the "perfect track" he wants imprinted on the album forever.

LB says it's like scenes in a movie (oh, good grief! ) -- says you have to have entirety of the number of songs you want to present and how they work together. Like scenes in a movie, some will get cut because they don't contribute to the flow.
