Default CVB's Tusk

Does anyone have the link where I can order Camper van Beethoven's Tusk?

I think I've finally decided to buy it

Default Hey Josh

Here should do the trick. I'm definitely keen on getting it when I get the chance (don't have a credit card myself).

Enjoy

CVB (Camper Van Beethoven) is an alternative punk band that was big with colleges during the mid to late eighties (someone correct me if I'm wrong - not my era!). Sometime in that period they all recorded the cover of the complete Tusk album as a bit of a lark, then it got forgotten. They recently reunited and released a scrubbed up version of this intriguing album which I'm looking forward to getting.

Joe pretty much summed it put. Camper Van was big when I was in college. Well, big in a college way. They had some songs that got serious college radio play, and those included "Take the Skinheads Bowling," "I Was Born in a Laundromat" and a cover of Status Quo's "Pictures of Matchstick Men." Camper broke up somewhere in Sweden circa 1991. David Lowery, Camper's front man, went on to form Cracker, which achieved some commercial success in the first half of the 90s. He now goes back and forth between both bands since Camper sort of reunited.

Camper's "Tusk" is not exactly a reverent piece of work, so be warned. While the band members have great respect for Lindsey's work, they weren't too crazy about Stevie's stuff and I think they were pretty neutral on Christine. They do some crazy stuff. Examples: The voice on "Sisters of the Moon" is a monotone computer generated vocal. "Honey Hi" is sung in Spanish.

I should add, however, that they do an excellent version of "Storms." Other highlights include "Save Me a Place," "What Makes You Think You're the One" and "Think About Me."

Go to www.pitchatent.com to buy the album.

I'm pretty sure at least a few of the tracks have been leaked onto Kazaa (and were on Audiogalaxy when it existed!), have a look there.
