I agree, I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive after the first singles but I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like this album. Lots of great songs. Stevie missed out, but I guess it's all for the best in the end.

So sorry about your mother, Christy.

I'll be forever grateful for that gift, no matter how much it sells. Stevie missed a great opportunity.

This is a fantastic pop album. I know people are divided on the music, lyrics, album name ( ), cover photo, etc, but this is bringing so much excitement around these parts and is making me happy, even in my shattered world. I love music more than pretty much anything else and it has been my anchor in life since I was little bitty. It's my anchor now....majorly.

The melodies that spiral throughout, that (in)famous rhythm section, the catchy hooks, familiarity and newness combined make for a worthy listen. I think this is a fantastic driving CD and I can't wait to go on vacation (and boy, am I DUE for one) and pop this in.

The lyrics may not mean much to some, but we all hang on to certain lines when we are at different times in our lives. "wind blows, one way, time goes, but love is here to stay..." mean A LOT to me right now after this heavy loss.
So sorry to hear this. This album will be deeply meaningful to you forever.

I've known you a long time on here. Love and respect to you and your family. I hope the album helps. When my papa died I remember exactly what I was listening to. And in a strange way, I enjoy pulling out that album and remembering the strength I had to have to help me and my family get through.

Christy, so sorry about the loss of your Mother. Prayers and positive thoughts to you and your family at this difficult time. I'm glad you're finding comfort in the new music we have all been blessed with.

I've heard the album 4 or 5 times now and it's really not growing on me. It's just kinda there. The songs are all pleasant enough, but nothing special. Several songs (specifically Lindsey's songs) that don't sound like much of a collaboration. Lindsey seems to be holding back with his guitar playing on this album. The live performances haven't been very impressive either with way too much help from prerecorded tracks and Christine not doing a whole lot. I'm a wee bit disappointed in the whole thing. But oh well. Maybe it'll grow on me yet or maybe not. Life goes on.

I wonder if this was a production choice. On most modern pop singles now, having a guitar solo has become a thing of the past. Fighting for airplay, I think the guitar solo was removed to cut the song down to the bare essence, the hook. Cutting the song length down to 3 minutes (or less) probably increases the chance of airplay.

Old Stevie's bible length songs wouldn't stand a chance now.

See? This is why Stevie didn't want to be part of this album! Mystery solved!

Default no booklet...

does anyone know why they didn't include some liner notes and lyrics? my theory is that they realized just how embarrassing some of these lyrics are...hahaha

So it looks like Christine spent about 3 months in the studio. Also this album is not over produced in my opinion at all. Some tracks I actually want more of the Lindsey studio magic. So there goes Stevie's complaints about "endless overdubs" and "a year in the studio".. You missed out Stevie!

Well, I have listened to the singles and the clips of the rest. I will buy Christine's tracks, I think, but not the whole thing.

Exactly this! Only song that stands out for me is Too Far Gone. The rest sounds like a typical Lindsey solo-album. Not bad, but too ... cannot really describe it ... kinda musical-wallpaper ...

Good to see the the same 2 people keep coming back to state that after 2 listens, 5 listens, 10 listens they don't like the album. Then the Stevie board regulars quote it, so they can keep their negative narrative going....
