That's because they just used snippets of that interview in this article.

yeah that's what they do at that site. they use some article snippets and add audio that was usually not heard before and that's the only new snippet. i usually find it interesting to hear and read these new snippets, that's why i post them.

My head is dizzy from reading all the varied speculations, opinions and theories addressing all facets of the Fleetwood Mac dynamic -- overwhelming but a very interesting read.

My contribution is very simple.

I think Christine retired because she just wanted to simplify her life, and was tired of the lifestyle, rigors and responsibility of being in a band. I don't yearn for her to rejoin the band if her heart isn't into it. I feel, from her comments, she is so far removed from being the high-profile rock star she once was. It would be a shocking adjustment for her to just snap back into that role. If she wants to commit to it, great! But Fleetwood Mac inherently has always been an evolving entity, and I've gotten used to this "Buckingham/Nicks" era.

My beef is with Stevie - such an odd, eccentric and stubborn creature! It's clear that Lindsey, as he stated, wants to make another Fleetwood Mac album. I also want another full album, not just a another digital EP! If she is not inclined to offer any new material, she has plenty of existing material to draw from. I hate to see her stymie the opportunity for us to have another album! Lindsey has been in a phase of immense creativity and inspiration with his solo work. I would love to hear how that plays out in the Big Machine!

The ONLY people who were surprised that Christine left in 1998 are the ones who weren’t paying attention. Christine was done in 1995, but decided to go out with on top with a bang. Even THAT was a bit much. Am I the only one who thought she looked a little stressed out during The Dance interviews? Still, for those who could get over the fact that they made a record without Stevie and actually paid attention, Christine’s leaving was hardly a surprise. Note the lyrics to All Over Again from the oh so dreaded/evil/not-really-a-Fleetwood-Mac-album (even though it had the same three core members it had had for 25 years) Time:

“Well it's time to say good night
And finally turn out the light
How do I say in some simple way
How much you have been on my mind

But I have to let you go
It's time to move on don't you know
But you can rely on a love that won't die
For haven't I told you so

So let's stop before it's too late
And leave it all up to the fates
Cause in spite of the heartache
And troubles in love
I'd do it all over
Do it all over again

Each of us and everyone
Carries a burden of love
But as far as I go in my heart I know
It's you I'll be thinking of

So what is there left to say
As I see us drifting away
You can always depend on a love that won't end
Won't you think of me, think of me that way

So let's stop before it's too late
And leave it all up to the fates
In spite of the heartaches
And troubles in love
I'd do it all over again

Well it's time to move on to the rain
And finally break the chain.
In spite of the heartaches
And troubles in love
I'd do it all over (do it all over)
Do it all over again
Stop before it's too late

Cause in spite of the heartaches
And troubles in love
I'd do it all over again (do it all over)
I'd do it all over again”

The die was cast as far back as 1972, with Homeward Bound:

I wanna sit at home
in my rocking chair
I don't wanna travel the world
As far as I'm concerned
I've had my share
Time's more precious than gold
I don't wanna see another
airplane seat
Or another hotel room
Home life to me seems
really neat
I just wanna run back for good

Buy me a ticket homeward bound,
Homeward bound
Buy me a ticket homeward bound,
Homeward bound

Well it all seems the same when
you've done it before
There's no difference in the style
There's no other sight than
my own front door
I'll be a stay-at-home
for awhile
So I'll have another drink and
a cigarette
Just to console myself somehow
It's not too bad if you can forget
I just gotta find a way somehow

Buy me a ticket homeward bound,
Homeward bound
Buy me a ticket homeward bound,
Homeward bound
