That fact was not lost on me. But, probably, all those people who MADE "Oh Well" #1 are either dead or have emigrated to some other country.

Well, Oh well reached nr.1 in holland for only one reason: it was the first "veronica's alarmschijf" ever. That means that it was the first song that was played every hour on a new fresh radiostation that aired nationwide.

Yeah, Little Lies was massive here (from what I can tell), but they have never been successful with singles here. They were more of an album band. For example Say You Will went straight to number 3, like the rest of their albums, so this still shows that there are still a lot of old record buyers (dealing with delinquent children).

I went to the site and saw that Tango went to #1 in Sweden...for 44 weeks! Woah. I had no idea.

what a surprise to see someone from the neighbourhood around. Tango was huge in Germany and esp. Little lies but the charts are not the only aspect. Back in the day radio airplay didn`t matter when it came to charts positions. Little lies, Big love, Everywhere and Family man got massive airplay. I would say these songs are much more famous or well known than one could guess just looking at the chart positions. One of the big radio stations (WDR 2) still play all of them on a regular basis. I'd say there is not one week, where at least one of those mentioned songs is played. Guess someone over there likes the band or had his first kiss listening to that album or whatever.

Fleetwood Mac - 23 Rumours - 1 Tusk - 1 Mirage - 5 Tango in the Night - 1 Behind the Mask - 1 Time - 45 (ha ha) The Dance - 15 Say You Will - 6 All you Lindsey fans will be pleased to know that OOTC actually made the top 40 over here! According to my Dad, Tango In The Night was EVERYWHERE (no pun intended). He said you couldn't walk into a record shop without them playing it. He rememberd finally getting sick of it when Little Lies came on in Asda (English version of Walmart). |

"Rooms on Fire" hit number 12 in New Zealand, second only behind "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" which hit number 11 - I knew it must have been huge here, because everyone knows it. Seriously, everyone....
