Please define anthology. Not the definition of the word - but what your intention was. A career spanning anthology? A greatest hits?

A solo career spanning anthology… includes that soundtracks and miscellaneous stuff she did too.

I picked 40 because it was the highest number, but I think Enchanted had 50, right? So, really I'd like to say about 70 because she's had three albums since Enchanted, and a few more soundtrack tunes.

Then again, if this anthology were marketed as more of an Enchanted II, then 45 tracks is probably sufficient to pick up where Enchanted left off, still spread across three CDs, including the tracks that were missed the first time like Mirror Mirror, Inspiration, Real Tears, etc...

For an anthology I'd say 40 songs:

CD 1:
Stop Dragging My Heart Around
Leather and Lace
Edge of Seventeen
After The Glitter Fades
Bella Donna
Blue Lamp
Stand Back
If Anyone Falls In Love
Nightbird
Beauty and the Beast
Sleeping Angel
Talk To Me
I Can't Wait
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You
Battle of the Dragons
Rooms On Fire
Two Kinds of Love
Long Way To Go
Ooh My Love
Sometimes It's a Bitch

CD 2:
Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind
Blue Denim
Twisted
Reconsider Me
Every Day
Planets of the Universe
Sorcerer
Trouble In Shangri-La
Love Is
Touched By An Angel
Secret Love
For What It's Worth
Moonlight
Soldier's Angel
You Can't Fix This
The Dealer
Lady
Starshine
24 Karat Gold
Blue Water

Now I'm thinking even moreso this is a great idea, with a re-release of Enchanted, and a simultaneous 6 disc collection to encompass both, in a fabulously deluxe box set, with a lithograph, some post cards, a photo book and some trinket-y thing like a badge, pin, patch or key ring. Or a moon necklace.

She doesn't hand those out to just anybody.

I really hope Stevie's next move, if not a new album, is a boxset of all her solo albums with new liner notes, all digitally remastered with bonus tracks, and then a bonus disc. Something like this:

Stevie Nicks: The Complete Studio Recordings

Disc 1 - Bella Donna
CD/DVD set with HBO special + Blue Lamp, Gold & Braid, alternate mixes, outtakes etc
Disc 2 - The Wild Heart
+ Garbo & bonus material
Disc 3 - Rock A Little
CD/DVD set with Red Rocks+ OMBTR&RS, Mirror Mirror, The Nightmare (12" remix) & bonus material
Disc 4 - The Otherside Of the Mirror
+ Real Tears, Whole Lotta Trouble live etc
Disc 5 - Street Angel
+ Inspiration, God's Garden, Thousand Days etc
Disc 6 - Trouble In Shangri-La
+ full 'Planets', Thrown Down, My Heart and alternate mixes/remixes
Disc 7 - Soundstage Sessions
CD/DVD set + Gold Dust Woman and Edge of Seventeen
Disc 8 - In Your Dreams
CD/DVD set including the documentary
Disc 9 - 24 Karat Gold
Deluxe version
Disc 10 - Bonus

1. Sleeping Angel
2. Voilet & Blue
3. Battle of the Dragon
4. Talk To Me (Time/Life version)
5. Sometime's It's A Bitch
6. Love's A Hard Game to Play
7. Desert Angel
8. Touched By An Angel
9. If You Ever Did Believe
10. Crystal
11. Twisted (soundtrack version)
12. My Heart (IYD version)
13. At Last
14. Free Fallin'
15. It's Late
16. Reconsider Me
17. You Can't Fix This

Default imo..

a true Stevie Nicks Anthology should include her Fleetwood Mac work as it is among her best. It may not be solo music, but it still is Stevie Nicks and a significant part of her work.

I agree theoretically with the principle of an anthology with both solo and FM work, but from a practical point of view I have to say that including her group work would make the anthology of even more colossal proportions.
Also, her group efforts are very different from her solo work and they would sound better if they were released as two separate anthological releases.
Including only her solo work would make room for interesting deep cuts that are less known to the audience.
I would make something like this:

1) Stop Draggin' my heart around
2) Gold and braid
3) Edge of seventeen
4) Bella Donna
5) Leather and lace
6) How still my love
7) After the glitter fades
8) Blue lamp
9) The wild heart
10) If anyone falls
11) Nightbird
12) Stand back
13) I will run to you
14) Beauty and the Beast
15) Battle of the dragon
16) Violet and blue
17) Rock a little
18) Imperial hotel
19) Talk to me
20) I can't wait
21) Has anyone ever written anything for you?
22) Rooms on fire
23) Alice
24) Whole lotta trouble
25) Long way to go
26) Two kinds of love
27) Blue Denim
28) Maybe love will change your mind
29) Crystal
30) If you ever did believe
31) Trouble in Shangri-La
32) Everyday
33) Planets of the unverse
34) Sorcerer
35) Secret love
36) For what it's worth
37) The dealer
38) 24 Karat gold
39) Mabel Normand
40) Lady

(Not necessarily in this order)

Of course it could happen. Why do you think it would NEVER happen?

I like how comprehensive this is. I would add Not Fade Away, Stand By Me, Needles and Pins, and a few others I can't remember right now.
