Default Is anyone still interested in VHS boots?

Hello~

I have duplicate copies of some of my VHS boots that I would like to give someone (for the cost of shipping), but I don't know if anyone would even be interested now that YouTube exists and everyone is trading DVDs and MP3s. I want them to go to someone who wants them for personal enjoyment (even if that means transferring them to DVD for yourself and then passing them on to another fan or tossing them), NOT someone who will make DVD copies to sell!!! I will also be looking to do the same with my full collection in a few months, after I finish transferring them to DVD. I didn't want to waste my time listing exactly what they are until I see if anyone even cares, but will do so if anyone does.

Just let me know........

If they go to ME I can transfer to DVD and send to you others! Or maybe one of the others interested can do that? Whatever is easiest, because I'm in NY and it will probably cost more to ship them here.

Default Wow!

I am surprised by the response! I, too, still dust off the ol' VCR once in a while, but I wouldn't have thought so many others do too!

Though many of you had engaging, pleading, trustworthy responses, I just had to go with the most fair thing. So first come, first serve it is (meaning in my PM Box, not here). I am waiting to hear back from the first person about whether or not they want everything. If they don't, I will offer what is left to the next person.

Again, I will be post here when I am ready to part with the full VHS collection. I hope to get back to trading (DVD & CD) this year. I don't mind VHS tapes, but, once you get a good collection going, they take up a lot of friggin' space!

I got your PM, Catdancer, and I did respond.

Sorry, everyone, but my PM box filled up overnight due to this thread. I tried to clear it out a little.

I think you need to buy one of those DVD transfer thingys... I need to learn, too since I've got drawers full of VHS taking up a lot of space. It just seems like such a major project.

If you have a DVD recorder (standalone), you can just attach the VHS output to your DVD recorder's input and you can record it that way. That's how it can be done without a computer. But you can also get one of those devices that hook up to the computer too.

My partner and I have talked about it, and I think that we have a way to get it... I just do not do cords, and exspensive equipment, lol. I am too clumsy.

Hello, everyone~

I just wanted to get the permission of the "winner" before posting it here, but the lucky Ledgie is.........

***kennation***

...And I can assure you all that he is beside himself with excitement!

I also want to reassure you all that I went about this in the most fair way possible. I went in the order of the first to respond in my PM Box. Some of you were frustrated that you received a message saying my PM Box was full. I was sure to make some room in the box before posting this thread. It filled up very quickly solely due to responses from this thread. So, if you received the "full" message, it was due to Ledgies who responded about this ahead of you. I do not have special relationships with any Ledgies whom I PM regularly, and I have only ever met one of you in person (someone who I haven't seen around here in ages). So, my PM Box was not full due to other, side conversations, nor was any favoritism involved.

I plan to put them all on dvds and make extra copies (in case I lose the first set, lol) When I am done I am going to repost them to pass them on to someone else... Unless I am bitten by the greedy bug and keep them for myself... LOL
