Default I Love Barnes And Noble

Looks like for the price of buying his new cd, you can meet Mick in New York City March 20th.

PRNewswire

THE MICK FLEETWOOD BLUES BAND'S 'BLUE AGAIN' CD

SET FOR RELEASE MARCH 17

Release Coincides With Nationwide Fleetwood Mac Tour

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Rock legend Mick Fleetwood will appear in person in New York at the Barnes & Noble Store at 555 Fifth Avenue on Friday, March 20 at 12 Noon to celebrate the release of BLUE AGAIN--a stunning new project by his Mick Fleetwood Blues Band. Revisiting the classic songs of early Fleetwood Mac, along with new songs in the same style, Fleetwood has assembled a hand-picked quartet of blues and Fleetwood Mac veterans who perform on this fiery blues showcase. BLUE AGAIN is equal parts blues rave-up and loving homage to the early incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, who are just beginning their 40th Anniversary celebration. BLUE AGAIN will be released by the Savoy Label Group's 429 Records on March 17, in time for the kickoff of Fleetwood Mac's highly anticipated world wide tour. Barnes & Noble is located at 555 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10017.

Produced by Mick Fleetwood and occasional Fleetwood Mac member Rick Vito, BLUE AGAIN was recorded live at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, Missouri in February of 2008 and sees him teaming up on this recording with guitarist and lead vocalist Rick Vito, bassist Lenny Castellanos and keyboardist Mark Johnstone. The immaculate recording gives the songs a vibrant, modern immediacy which transcends easy nostalgia. Says Mick: "Over my career I've been called a pop star and a rock star, yet in my inner heart, I will always be part bluesman. On my journey from blues to a life of rock 'n' roll, I've always remembered where I started." BLUE AGAIN is both an original musical tour de force and a respectful tribute to Fleetwood Mac initiated by the sole member of the band to be in every incarnation from the beginning.

Track listing for BLUE AGAIN is as follows: 1. Red Hot Gal 2.Looking For Somebody 3. Fleetwood Boogie 4. Stop Messin' Around 5. Rattlesnake Shake 6. When We Do The Lucky Devil 7. Love That Burns 8. Bayou Queen 9. Black Magic Woman 10. I Got A Hole In My Shoe 11. Shake Your Moneymaker 12. Albatross.

429 Records is a unit of the Savoy Label Group (SLG). SLG is the North American unit of CME (Columbia Music Entertainment), the oldest music company in Japan. The Savoy Label Group has evolved into a leading independent company consistently outperforming competitors in key music categories as monitored by Billboard Magazine. SLG is led by Steve Vining and CME is headed by Chairman Strauss Zelnick, founder of Zelnick Media which owns interests in and manages an array of media companies.

The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band is co-managed by Jonathan Todd, President of Sabre Entertainment and Carl Stubner, President of Sanctuary Management Group.

Oh, I'm so jealous of you! I wonder if Mick is going to be autographing the CD's?

Mick's playing at the Garden Thursday night and showing up at B & N by noon the next day? So much for sleeping in after a big show!

Strange choice of the word occasional. I've heard Rick called former Fleetwood Mac member, one-time Fleetwood Mac member, or even forgotten Fleetwood Mac member, but occasional? Hmmmmm....

Yeah, I thought that kind of odd, as well. That term actually could be used for both Lindsey & Stevie, though.

I wish it were former when refering to Stevie and Lindsey

Do you think it would be rude of me to bring each of the mick fleetwood "solo" albums for him to sign? I'm hoping to get them all framed like I have my lindsey's framed.

Sometimes, they have a budget CD of the blues days from Sony. I don't buy from there much because they're expensive.

Will they have copies of the CD there to purchase? I didn't get the US release in the mail yet... maybe I didn't order it.

We'll be awaiting your report, TrueFaith!

Did he sign the CD's?
Does he look even taller in person?
Was he wearing those red shoes?

Argh. The B&N employees are fascists. Wouldn't even let me pull out my "memorabilia" as they called it... Then, a German couple in front of me mentioned they live in Hamburg, but that they didn't bother going to see Mick Fleetwood's Blues Band when it played there, but demanded a supposedly outlawed posed picture with the man... during which time he signed my CD cover, didn't even look at me, and all I could get out before being forced out of the space was: "I'm honored." (And, really, I'm not usually at a loss for words with celebs.)

I'm not mad at Mick. He doesn't know who cares about his work. I'm disappointed in myself. I'm kicking myself for not going about this more creatively... I should have offered to buy ten copies of the CD in exchange for my MIck Fleetwood solo albums being signed.

Mick was nice to everybody. Doing his job. He let the B&N staff would do the dirty work. Which it did for everybody but the Germans.

Also, I met a very nice lady who was there to get the cd cover signed for her son who is in school so couldn't be there. She was very very nice and, though she didn't know it, helped deflate some of my anxiety (which unfortunately spiked amidst the confusion with the Germans and the B&N fascists). I suspect the son is a Ledgie based on what she said. So, if you're out there: "Hi, John!"

Mick IS tall, of course. He's like something from Santa's Village. He wore a crazy coat of many colors (vertical stripes). It was ugly as sin, but rock stars can pull anything off.

I thought that was only the coat he wore when he's just emerged from his dressing room. I didn't realize he wore it out on the streets too!

Aw, that's a shame, TrueFaith. So often at these signing events the store people get way too rigid. I remember taking my son to a Jackie Chan booksigning (he had a book? I guess he must have...) The line was snaked out of the store and onto the sidewalk. Even shoving people through at turbo speed, they ended it before my son could get to him.

I think "I'm honored" was a lovely thing to say to Mick.

Sounds like the coat he's wearing on a video at his myspace page ---

....he's wearing it at the beginning, and again when it shows him walking the streets of St. Louis. He's probably the only one in the world who could get away with a coat like that. (Or maybe Elton John.)

Yeah Michele! Definitely dressing room attire. All it needs is some bright red slippers. I love Mick.

Thanks for your report! Sorry it wasn't quite what you hoped.

This is true. The BN staff were real jerks. They were very inconsistent.

I honestly think Mick is the only guy in the world who could pull off wearing that coat in public and not get arrested for being a pimp!!!! It looks like a bathrobe!!!! The guy pulls it off though, particularly with that blue hat in the video. He's hilarious!

Has anyone heard or seen anything about whether or not Mick will be doing more of this as the tour rolls on? I'm in San Jose, CA, have my "Blue Again" UK version en route to me and am dying to know whether or not the opportunity will come to get to meet the man who taught me to play the drums (although he was never physically there!!!!). Any info would be welcomed.
