I find the beginning of Miranda, which is repeated throughout the song, reminds me alot of LB's other work. The same for a few of the other songs on the record. In fact, a few reviewers have alluded to this. But, even if this is accepted as true, I'd rather hear his variation on his themes than 98 percent of the other stuff out there.

Moreover, a musical scale is only seven notes and their respective sharps and flats per octave. So, eventually, a person with a body of work as large as FM and LB solo will sound similar.

I don't hear the similarity....? The Bleed To Love Her bridge changes evenly between Ab and Eb, whereas the YDOYD bridge changes between G, D and C. (Both have momentary joining chords which I've left out for simplicity.) They have very different feels, imo.
OK, you're right, it's not the same chords, but they don't have to be *exactly* the same to be similar. In both songs Lindsey uses the same lyrics, the bridge lifts the song up to a higher key, and he more or less sings the same melody (the exact same on the first and third lines). The Bleed to Love Her bridge is clearly a rewrite of the earlier idea.

It's the same kind of picking pattern as in the live version of "Big Love."

Hey even Lindsey said in a recent interview that he'd been using the riffs from "World Turning" (or was it "The Chain") for 25 years.

Talking Hell NO!!!!

Hi Squealy....you trying to say Lindsey is musically lazy???
We admire and appreciate Lindsey's genius and his great re-
cycled...re-claimed "leitmotif" usages! ALL Musicians do this
in lyrics to re-emphasize a point or to carry forward a familiar
theme thru the tunes!Makes a nice continuity!!!Okay? Bye,C.

Bring on a Red Roveresque Solo Album Lindsey!
