Wow, BuckinghamNicks Fleetwood Mac haven't been to France since 1980!!!
I'm very happy they're playing countires other then England and Germany. Even though I said in that other thread I was against them doing Europe at all, if they're going to do it at all I'm very glad they're playing France, Sweeded etc..

Wonder if Italy will be next? Now that would be tempting.

This is so cool! It's going to be a bitch reading any reviews! October looks full now with dates. I'm wondering if this is it, or if they will work backwards and add in some September dates or go further into November.

Le small/crappy venue. The fact they're not playing Bercy shows they are tentative about the French fanbase. Its very cool they're playing all these cities in Europe, though, for a proper European tour.

I think it would be awesome to see them there personally.

If it's good enough for NIN AND Nirvana, it's good enough for Fleetwood Mac. I also think it's great for the fans who will get to see them in a more intimate venue. After all, their biggest European hit was TITN and that was a long time ago.

Doesn't look all that small to me... Kinda like an indoor amphitheatre without the lawn seating behind the seated area...

You're right, it's not that small, just a lot smaller than most of the venues they are playing on the European tour. Wembley Arena, for example is double the size.

Paris, France - October 17
Hey everybody, 'been I while since I posted.
Anyway, just got back from the show in Paris and now I can finally scream at the top of my lungs that I've finally seen them in concert. I haven't been keeping on top of things lately and besides the "Storms" novelty, I didn't know what to expect. Hence I was quite pleasantly surprised to see them perform "Gypsy", "Go Insane" & "Oh Well". I found the band in fine form. Stevie's voice was strong and she gave us smiles galore and plenty of power wails. Lindsey was full of energy and got some wild cheers from the crowd, especially after "Big Love" & "I'm So Afraid". Stevie, Lindsey & Mick each in turn lamented that it had been too long since they'd played in France. Stevie explained that they didn't remember anything of the last Parisian show some 20 years ago on account that they were probably too drunk. She asked Lindsey to put Paris on the tour otherwise she would have to come on her own and sing off a street corner all by herself. During the farewells, Lindsey promised to stop by again "next time"... A few random comments. Mick's antics during "World Turning" are much more palatable and I was relieved that the vest didn't rear its ugly head err.. pads. Stevie dedicated "Landslide" to all of us, "Paris the City of Dreams". There was a false start on "Don't Stop", some technical glitch with one of Brett's keyboards (apparently it also happened in Stockholm during "Stand Back" I just read). People weren't expecting the second encore and proceeded towards the exits until "Silver Springs" froze them in to place and ended the show with greatness. I'm off to drown in some sea. Thank you, good night. |

Mick isn't doing the vest thing? Praise the lord! Good news indeed.

Oh, I especially like that picture of Stevie and John. Thank you.
Hippocampus, Stevie saying that if Paris hadn't been a tour stop she'd have to come alone and sing on a street corner is hilarious. Very charming. I bet they did some crazy shopping. Mick, Stevie and Kristen will all be leaving with many more suitcases than they had upon arrival. Michele |
