From her pre-Fleetwood Mac days and the cherished Buckingham Nicks album recorded before she and Lindsey joined the band, which of course helped make Fleetwood Mac the rock and roll institution it remains to this day, she’s an integral part of music history. As such, she owns the rare designation of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two times — with her second, this time as a solo artist, coming up this spring. With plenty of reason to celebrate, Rhino Records has put together a new collection of music from throughout Nicks’ career. Stand Back: 1981 – 2017 will pull from ” … a variety of new releases that celebrate her solo career with essential recordings chosen from studio albums, live performances, and soundtrack contributions, plus several of her most-celebrated collaborations with artists including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Don Henley, Lana Del Rey, and Lady Antebellum.” The album, which will be available as an 18-track CD or digital edition, a 50-track, 3-CD set, and a 6-LP vinyl collection (coming out a bit later, on June 28). More about Stand Back, from the press release: In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut Bella Donna. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, “Edge Of Seventeen.” More platinum albums followed – The Wild Heart (1983), Rock A Little (1985), and The Other Side Of The Mirror (1989). Music from all eight of Nicks’ studio albums are included in the set, from Top 10 hits like “Stand Back” and “Talk To Me” to “The Dealer” from her latest, 2014’s 24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault. On STAND BACK, those solo tracks are joined by Nicks’ memorable collaborations with other artists, including “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, “Leather And Lace” with Don Henley, “You’re Not The One” with Sheryl Crow, and “Beautiful People Beautiful Problems” with Lana Del Rey. Beyond Nicks’ work as a recording artist, STAND BACK also explores her career on stage with outstanding live recordings, including performances from her 1981 Bella Donna tour (“Dreams” and “Rhiannon”), and her 2009 live album The Soundstage Sessions (“Sara” and a cover of Dave Matthews Band’s “Crash Into Me.”) Rounding out the collection are several of her contributions to film soundtracks, like “Blue Lamp” from Heavy Metal and “If You Ever Did Believe” from Practical Magic. Obviously no real ' new' material that we don't already know or have in some kind of form ... still worth buying ...

Very surprised that the title track from 24 Karat Gold isn't included. Otherwise not a bad set!

I'm already DIS-Enchanted. Is there anything that hasn't been previously available? I can't seem to find anything new here.

Not a bad set, although there's some significant tracks missing for my liking.
Good to see the more recent soundtrack stuff included, they've never been available on a Stevie album before so good they they're all included together. It'll be interesting to find out if they are all single or radio edits as most (if not all) of those have never been available digitally, so that could be good. I'm especially intrigued to see if "I Can't Wait" is one of the single remixes and if "Blue Demin" and "Maybe Love" are the Chris Lord-Alge single remixes, as they were a vast improvement on what was included on 'Street Angel'. He should've remixed the whole damn album! |

Boring, boring, boring. We just got deluxe remasters of the Bella Donna and Wild Heart albums, plus a CD of the Fox Wilshire live in 1981. Who needs it over and over again? Is this the new version of milking saphead fans? We buy everything anyway, so keep selling it to us repackaged?
Rhino has gotten really lazy and really boring lately. They used to track down incredible stuff that fans couldn't get their hands on. Now they're just repackagers. You're BORING, Rhino. How about tracking down the all-star American Heart Institute concert that Stevie headlined at Compton Terrace in September 1983? How about giving us those unreleased Dallas Austin sessions? How about finding the Lifetime cable channel footage of Stevie's aborted special and concert from 1995? How about earning your 80 bucks from us? Miserable buzzards, picking over the carcass of aging rock stars and their suckerfish fans.

I don’t like the track listing plus no new song. Could she not put clean demos of three birds of Rhiannon or forest of black roses on here?

I can't remember details. It was something Mike Bise told his Mirror Mirror subscribers about in 1994–95. Just another one of those long-lost thingie-ma-bobbers.

It's also hilarious that the alternate Bombay sapphires, original version of my heart, call on me for magic AND the TISL version of Thrown Down all leaked on their own.
All of those nuggets would of been amazing for this collection.

I will buy for the three duets I don’t have and the hard copy for my collection. It’s a good set collection for the “mass” fans. It should have been a 8cd box set with all masters and unreleased tracks from all albums.

Hopefully this refers to one of the following: 1. 24 Karat Vol 2 Plans- Unlikely 2. Reissues of Rock a Little or OSOTM- More likely 3. Plans for 24 Karat Gold Tour dvd release- Reasonably likely I'd be thrilled with any of the above.
