Lead guitarist/vocalist Rick Vito and legendary drummer Mick Fleetwood perform Wednesday night at the opening of Fleetwood’s on Front Street. The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band blazed through some classic Fleetwood Mac nuggets like “Rattlesnake Shake” and “Black Magic Woman,” which also featured the addition of blues rocker Johnny Lang. The festivities continue tonight with Fleetwood’s Island Rumours Band ($50 cover) and Saturday with Rick Vito as King Paris (no cover).

Well, it seems rather obvious if Mick were to assemble yet another new version of Fleetwood Mac at this point in time, Rick Vito might play a role in it. And Lindsey Buckingham, too, given the fact he recently recorded some new material with Mick and John.

But would a Vito / Buckingham guitar duel really work? I'm sure there is some interesting fan fiction in there somewhere ;-)

I think the days of a "new" lineup are over. They're going to milk this incarnation until one of them drops, and that will be that. Hopefully Mick's restaurant will be a success, so that financial idiot will have something to tide him over, in his waning years.

Not a chance in hell Lindsey would ever allow that.
