Mick Fleetwood Drums Up Support for Music Education With Exhibit of His Nature Photos

Fleetwood Mac founding member Mick Fleetwood is legendary for his drumming, but he's also a photographer. In the upcoming exhibit "Rhythm of a Rose," the British-born Angeleno will showcase his artwork at Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills, with a portion of the sales benefitting the Music Unites program.

By getting his photos of nature on the walls of art lovers, Fleetwood will be helping get music education into inner-city classrooms. Ten percent of the proceeds from sales of Fleetwood's art will go to Music Unites.

Fleetwood says he's always been passionate about nature and capturing its structures and designs in his photography. "The camera lens is like a magic window that transports me into a secret world. In that world I observe shapes and details that I might not generally see even though the subjects are right before my eyes," says Fleetwood.
The lanky rocker joins a star-studded list of other musicians with art on display at Mouche. The Gallery features artwork by Legends such as: Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones Guitarist), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith Front Man), Slash, Jimi Hendrix, Grace Slick (Jefferson Starship), and Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead).

"Rhythm of a Rose" will be at the Mouche Gallery June 18-25, 2012; an opening reception is scheduled for June 18 from 6-8 p.m.

Mick Fleetwood's Photos Are on Display in Beverly Hills
Wed, 13 Jun 2012

Mick Fleetwood, drummer of Fleetwood Mac, has his photos on display at the Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills.

Drums, photography, what doesn't this man do?

"The world of nature is something I have always been passionate about and it has been a huge inspiration for my photographs. The camera lens is like a magic window that transports me into a secret world," the drummer said in a statement.

The exhibit opens on June 18 and Mick will be on site to celebrate. Tickets are available for purchase for the event with proceeds benefiting Music Unites, a non-profit organization that brings music education to underprivileged children.

Do you want to check out Mick Fleetwood's photos? More info at Mouche Gallery.

Fleetwood Mac founder Mick Fleetwood has been exhibiting some of his stunning wildlife photography. While talking to the U.K.’s Daily Express, the blues and rock legend also spoke of his admiration for Miley Cyrus.

Fleetwood said: “It may surprise you but I think Miley Cyrus is a great talent. She reminds me of Dolly Parton vocally. I am a big fan and admire her.”
