If Stevie even remembers the BTM tour....

I don't know that Stevie's ever actually said much about Blue Denim aside from the time she claimed it was about her brother (), and her commentary on the Crystal Visions DVD when she just guessed it must have been about Lindsey because of his beautiful blue eyes.

The whole Clinton Inauguration theory is, as far as I know, just that - a theory (albeit, a very popular one).

She initially said that Blue Denim was about a guy she met only briefly and didn't remember much about him except his blue eyes.

"Blue Denim" is about Stevie's love for the tantalizing aroma of a men's cologne, and how it reminds her of her old dog Ginny, who used to get wet occasionally and let off with a scent akin to skunk and wooden floorboards.

Here's a Blue Denim quote, from July 1994.

Quote:
"Well, I wrote this... um, it's a song about this guy who came into my life, but left just as quick. And his eyes were that intense, that it just makes you, even if you didn't know him, you would go, like, 'wow.' And you could be, like, the toughest person, but those eyes would make you be whatever he wanted you to be."

I completely feel the same about that. I think the media (including certain band members) tends to milk and manipulate the tabloid aspect of band's sordid history. Stevie, in particular, is an unabashed master of it. The stories she recalls are manipulated drastically over time.

But it's safe to say Stevie has a rich personal history that is entirely unknown to her fans. With all the people she's met and/or spent time with, along with her vast worldly experience, I would think that her artistic inspiration comes from varied sources, and not just Lindsey. But when she gives interviews, she attributes most of her musings to Lindsey because she knows this is part of a media storyline that stimulates interest.

I think it's fascinating that they write so much about each other, to this day.

Just recently, in Detroit, Stevie was talking about "Moonlight" and how she was inspired to finish "Lady from the Mountain" (although she didn't mention it by name) because she saw a Twilight movie and the two main characters, Bella and Edward, reminded her of herself and Lindsey.

Now, I honestly don't understand that parallel because as far as I saw, Stevie is nothing like that weak whiner Bella. Admittedly, I didn't see the second movie she is referring to, and I fell asleep during the first movie after that part in the forest where Edward sparkles. I didn't wake up until the big noisy fight scene at the end where Edward was rescuing her from some evil vampire guy, but from what I saw, Bella is pretty lame.

Still, that's beside the point; I just found it very romantic that to this day, she sometimes (not always, but sometimes) writes with Lindsey in mind.

Blue Denim is such a terrible choice. It's basically a chorus with great guitar riff. Not really song. It's not musically deep at all. When he put that on the list, I left the sight.

I really don't think Stevie is ANYTHING like Bella (at least, I hope not). Lindsey probably is a little bit like Edward

I hope that the similarity she saw was simply in the possibly a little bit codependent relationship and the whole never able to get away from each other thing.
