I agree that his voice live isn't great, as I mentioned in a post subsequent to the one you're referring to. However, I was reacting to a comment that seemed to imply Lindsey's voice has deteriorated considerably. Far from it, in my view.

It's true, a lot of artists who have chosen to continue to perform as they age have had to change keys...big deal. They've had to do it because they are human beings. We can except these as the "now" versions, as opposed to automatically deeming them "worse" or "inadequate" versions. We can enjoy them for what they are now, because the only alternative is no FM at all...they can't, afterall, reverse the aging process.
I agree!!!!!

Thumbs down You want technically perfect?

Go listen to a plethora of divas.

Give me Lindsey and Stevie ANYDAY over some oversinging, emotionless singer.

I live for those voice breaks.

...I most definitely should have mentioned At Last in this list.

I rather miss the Elmer Fuddness of Stevie's thirtysomething years.

Now THAT'S power.

This made my day. Exactly how I feel, but never seem to be able to get it across so simply and directly (my emotions get the best of me ).

Lindsey's vocals are absolutely sublime on this one, as is his singing on Murrow, Say Goodbye and Red Rover. Sublime I say, SUBLIME!!!

and the funny thing about all of these songs is that they're all sung differently for the most part, with extreme highs and lows, and dips and valleys by Lindsey. The point is, Carne is right, his voice has matured and he's matured as a vocal performer. I think it's because he's really come into his own as a seasoned musician and songwriter, you can tell he finally feels comfortable in his own skin after all those years of mania he endured with Fleetwood Mac.

and as far as live performances go, he does just fine. I'm not complaining...
