Default On With The Show

Is it just me or does the chorus to On With The Show use a few chords from "You and I, Part II"? If so, what do you think the reason was for?

I think someone here noticed that too, or it was mentioned in an interview. The beginning of Love is here to stay sounds like the start of she Acts Like You. I thought it was just me till it was discussed in a review!

it's showing the continuity of Fleetwood Mac by quoting the last song on the last album all 5 were on.

Default Yep

This entire album has bits and pieces from various FM songs from the past. Steal Your Heart Away is what I hear throughout the song, plus that guitar part....You and I, part II.

I'm wondering if LB really did think this would be the last FM album ever (no matter what they are saying), so he recorded songs that harken back to his FM music legacy?

I love the reference, I love You and I Part II so it's great for the guitar riff to pop up again.

Maybe, but considering Lindsey has bent over backwards saying this isn't a FM album, I think it might just be a coincidence. I mean, both Lindsey and Stevie have recycled lyrics several times, so I think it's just a coincidence.

All of that bending over backwards came after the songs were written and recorded, though.

He also used it in Surrender the rain on Out of the Cradle.

Yeah the whole thing seems very self referential. I kind of like it. It's like one big puzzle.
