Tiny Lindsey Mentions in New Performing Songwriter
Just for the sake of being complete, I'll pass along a few tiny blurbs I've spotted in the new issue of Performing Songwriter magazine.. just arrived today. Keith Urban is on the cover. His hair kills me, but he has such a gorgeous face. Anyway!
In Letters From Readers: While I was impressed with your Lindsey Buckingham and Bob Seger interviews and can't wait to hear their new music, I was even more impressed that these guys were hovering around the age of 50 when they finally decided to have kids! It gives hope to an unmarried 43-year-old like myself. I may never write great songs like they have, but there's still hope to carry on the family name! Clark Farnsdale Dallas, Texas And in the Keith Urban article, a box on the side.. Guitar Gods Keith Urban, who'se known for his lightning chops and tasty licks, cites his six-string heroes Lindsey Buckingham "His ability to layer parts on a record is amazing. I've never heard anybody do it quite like that. You can normally tell that it's the same guy layering parts, no matter how many different guitars and amps they use. But I find Lindsey to be extraordinary in the way his tones are all so very different, and they work really well together." (Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton are also listed.) And, in the Live Sound section article about Soundstage, a small bit in the corner.. Many Soundstage performances are available on DVD. Here are some of our favorites: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Robert Plant & the Strange Sensation Lindsey Buckingham Michael McDonald Chicago Chris Isaak There may be more.. I just happened to notice these.

OT but have you heard Keith Urban's newest record at all? I haven't and I'm wondering if it's worth getting. I admit I've never been a huge country fan (aside from H. Williams, Cash, and Shelby Lynne), but I do enjoy the occasional contemporary country artist, and he's one of them (along with Dixie Chicks and Shania). So, is it good?

Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing...
It's WAY different than Golden Road or Be Here. I admit it's taking me some listens to get into its groove, but I already have a few faves. There are a couple of songs I could do without, but overall, I like the new Keith CD. I'd say, yes, it's worth getting, but I am also biased.
Do you have Golden Road or Be Here? Those are MUST HAVES.

I have "Golden Road" but not the other. I really like it. He's very talented and I love his voice and style. I'll have to consider this new album, then. I always like getting into new music anyway. Thanks so much!!
