Yep... my other half wanted red and I wanted orange . It's definitely much more fun if you have others to ride with.

I think I'd look funny on a bike but I do enjoy seeing people out and about on their sport bikes on a warm sunny February day, especially if the person is cute pulling up next to you.

Not a 'real' motorcycle, but when I was a kid/teen my brothers and I had dirt bikes. It was a lot of fun riding those in the Las Vegas desert.

Louie those are good pic's.

One of my best friends just got a bike, so I will have someone to
ride with if I decide to pull the trigger.

Maybe I should start a iamnotafraid Harley fund.
And you all can donate to it. You know, share the love.

Yeah helmets are wise but some of the daredevils look so good without them if just riding around town. A few weekends ago we had a scary evening thunderstorm moving from interior Florida as I was leaving the beach all day and on the way home some poor guy on a bike got caught in it and the terrible downpour and lightning but was obviously trying to beat it home instead of just pulling over somewhere. To bike here in summer, you have to dodge those everyday pop up storms that are cool and fascinating, as long as you're sheltered.

Not a good idea! My friend's husband had just washed his motorcycle, and rode it around the block to get some of the water off - he was hit by a teenager and killed instantly - no helmet. It was so sad, she was in her 20's with two small children.

Yeah I can understand the thrill of being on one but even with a helmet you have no protection really in an accident, unlike being in a car. I think that alone keeps many off them.

when I drove my Suzuki Shuttle FA50, since it could go up to 45 MPH...and one of the few times I didn't wear my helmet, I locked the front brakes while slowing for a stop sign and was tossed over the handlebars onto the pavement - thankfully I protected my head/face with the full length cast on my right arm (From a wrist fracture while playing baseball) however I tore skin off my elbows and knees (Still have some of the scarring on my knees 24 years later)...

On the positive side of things, my wrist didn't hurt as much after that accident thanks in part to me knees and elbows

Riding motorbikes are so much fun, i started riding just dirt bikes as a kid, then met my husband who had a fast road bike, i loved riding on the back, mainly on the open roads, city traffic isn't much fun. We have 3 sons they all race Motocross, our middle son is racing SuperX this weekend, im scared sh##less just thinking about it now, a few of the top USA riders are coming downunder to race. Fingers crossed that he stays safe!!
Anyway go for it, buy that bike & enjoy the freedom & wind in your face.

^ That sounds good to me!

And I appreciate all of you taking the time to share your
thoughts on bikes.

When I think about really buying a bike (can't get it off my mind),
my heart starts pounding. Is that good??? Am I crazy? Nevermind,
I'd rather not know.

Pretty much zilch. I rode one for a day when I was in the 8th grade.
And that was many moons ago. Though on my bicycle I used to think
I could jump like Evel Knievel. Crazy days!
