Default September of My Years!

I just listend to Frankie's September of My years Album, 1965. Every word of lyric articulated. He will allways be the Chairman of the Board. Frank Sinatra, the greatest singer of all time...Sorry Paul M.

I just finished reading Pattie Boyd's book and she talks about the time that she and George went to visit him in the studio and watched him do My Way in one take with a full orchestra!

I've never heard anyone else sing like her. She has a very versatile voice. She's done many different genres of music. Plus she had Waddy and Russ Kunkel in her band first.

How funny you mention that album because I listen to that album quite a bit, too. I bought it a long time ago for VERY GOOD YEAR, but soon realized that the album really hangs together as a whole. I guess in one sense you could even call it a concept album (probably one of the first in an era when singers' albums were mere collections of random songs).

Damn, the Patti Boyd post just reminded me, I left off my FAVORITE male singer/songwriter of all time: ERIC CLAPTON!

Yeah, it really was a "concept" albumn of sorts. Sinatra turned 50 in 1965 and all the songs kinda of deal with aging (September Song, Very Good Year). I think his best years were just beginning.

I saw Scritti Politti in Nov. 2006 and it was truly amazing. Hearing THAT voice come out of a very tall, lean, bearded, youthful 56 year-old was a real treat.
