Another issue he is going to have is the tuning of his guitars. Stan tunes them differently for each song on every tour. How is he going to have each tune ready?

I don't think he's chicken but I do think he is a reformed perfectionist who would not do this type of show based on the unpredictability factor.
I have to agree with this.

Yes, I haven't thought about his guitar settings. He has 4-5 electric guitars tuned differently, same story for the acoustic ones. But every single guitar is tuned for songs that he decided.
This could represent a problem, because some of his songs are bit quirky in terms of tuning.

It was a bit loud when we were yelling, I think it was right when he came back out for the encore and everyone was cheering/clapping. Although did he play it before or after Trouble? So maybe we had to yell after Trouble too? I can't remember.

Ohh this thread is interesting. Requests would rock, but I feel like he wouldn't do it unless he had some control like offering us choices. I think someone said that earlier.

What I think would be awesome (and I'm probably in the minority with this) is if he did some covers, maybe just one or two. But I bet he's done some awesome stuff during sound checks or just jamming.. Maybe some zeppelin, pearl jam, skynyrd, pink floyd, he could make anything work!

yes, definitely. they'd probably have to take more guitars on the road.

but, don't forget that he can do several songs on one guitar / tuning - he used red "Trouble" guitar last year for Trouble, Rock Away Blind, Rodeo, and Walk a Thin Line.

yes, that's what he described last year in Knoxville, when bunch of us upfront (well, mostly Ryan and me lol) kept yelling different requests at him and told him we are offering him choices (Down on Rodeo, Red Rover, Underground, etc).

he said "choices. that's right! my choices" and laughed. audience found that very funny (instead of agreeing with me that it should be my choices ).

then he said "these guys, they go to all these shows and are always making trouble... always trying to get me to do stuff. i said next time i would do a request portion of the show. in fact what i could have back here is like a blackboard and an easel, and like in front of the restaurant the menu of requests... possible requests and... i don't know? next time, ok?"

something like that.

Also, I really hope he brings back his band for his next solo tour. As much as I adored "Stephanie" on the last run, I was really missing the rock and roll!

he listened to your wishes, CAD.

conversely, he never listens to me (where's that crying emoticon lol). or more accurately, he listens to what i have to say, and then does exactly the opposite.

Ha! I wish I had that kind of pull.

Maybe you're asking too much. Start small. Name two tracks you'd love to hear most. Then promote.

However, I will shamelessly beg for a BN tour or one off live concert filmed for DVD with an opportunity for special seats.

No. I don't. I thought you wanted an all request tour.

Here's your choices from the first page:

Walk a Thin Line
To Try For The Sun
Rodeo
Gone Too Far
Red Rover
Deep Dense

Personally, out of these I would love to hear WATL, TTFTS, DOR.

I'd voted for 8. He Will never do that, the controlfreak (which is something else than a chicken). I'd ask him if he'd do:

The Ledge
Save Me A Place
What Makes You Think You're The One
That's All For Everyone
That's Enough For Me
Not That Funny
Walk A Thin Line
I Know I 'm Not Wrong

HA.

<3

oh you are talking about this thread!

no what i meant is there's one song i've been drilling into his head almost every single time i've seen him. including in Columbus and Jones Beach during FM shows. and to Mick too. Mick's favorite song apparently.

but you are right - i want all these songs and more. i want all-request or partial-request tour, like what he described to us during his Knoxville show.

well, what i really want is him doing a show in my back yard where i get to pick every single song but you know...
